UK:ME Association funds research for a new clinical assessment toolkit in NHS ME/CFS specialist services, 2023

The link for PAG application form now says they have had enough responses and they have closed the process so it is positive there has been a good response but they have closed it two weeks early. I hope there aren’t people spending precious energy working on applications who don’t know the...

UK House of Lords/ House of Commons - relevant people and questions

Unfortunately I don’t think MPs and their parliamentary assistants seem to put enough thought into framing questions to get specific responses or follow up when they get generic replies. Some are content to top sheet hoping whatever response they get from a department is enough to demonstrate...

Are cooling mats, vests and jackets any good?

Similarly I’ve got a meaco air circulator fan which isn’t silent but is barely audible and is very effective. I also use physio gel packs that I freeze and wrap in a scarf to use against my core or back of head/neck. Usually at night to help sleep under normal warm summer conditions. but...

A safe and effective micro‑choice based rehabilitation for patients with long COVID: results from a quasi‑experimental study 2023, Frisk et al

Sick leave is a fuzzy area if you’re on a phased return you’re not working your full time hours but are partially off sick, after 3 months could still be trying to return to full time. Or still being in employment unless it means return to previous role/hours could mean people have formally...

    Measuring Cognitive Exertion

This is such a good idea, hopefully there will be some good learning that can be passed on to researchers. You mentioned gaming not needed much thinking but doesn’t the reaction that leads to pressing the buttons involve a fair bit of cognitive energy. Maintaining concentration and spatial...

USA Centers for Disease Control (CDC) news (including ME/CFS Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Calls) - next call 4 Dec 2024

Diagnosed with depression, anxiety etc etc I quote from the GP I first discussed a CFS diagnosis when I first discovered this possibility. “ We don’t like to give that diagnosis it is better to treat the symptoms.”

UK: Invest in ME Conference 2023

. Bit pompous quoting myself but I could see this coming. IIME could do something really radical with their (PWMEs)money by bringing together everyone in the U.K. involved in ME biomedical research.

Bristol Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME Service; Bristol M.E. Service - Peter Gladwell

Seems likely to be sloppy web management leaving orphan content nothing links to that should have been removed when the link was removed.

    The Chrysalis Effect

Yes no difference between this and Lightning Process in terms of the money making multi level marketing approach of selling “practitioner training”. Should be specifically excluded in the NICE guidelines on the same basis as LP as NOT a treatment for ME.

    The Chrysalis Effect

Probably needs ME Association or the ME charities group [??] to take this up with NHS organisations.
