I thought that reusing existing treatments that were known about already - their dangers, side effects, and what they actually did in the body - was an idea that a few people came up with. But all that seemed to create was hysteria. I never did find out whether hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin...
My idea of a good treatment for Covid would be one that could be bought over the counter ready to be used if someone got sick and would shorten the course of the disease if taken right at the start. Such a treatment would reduce the number of people ending up in hospital, would reduce the length...
I'm not familiar with anything that really helps much with flu or a bad cold other than paracetamol or ibuprofen. I think most products for such conditions are placebo. My husband bought one product intended for my use, offered by a local pharmacy, to treat my dry cough and the active ingredient...
I haven't seen any mention of treatments for ordinary people who get sick which can be prescribed by GPs or can be bought from pharmacies. All I see are repeated and repetitive articles about ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine that engender lots of hysteria from lots of sources.
I wish that scientists had researched how to reduce the severity of Covid in people of all ages and with underlying health conditions, rather than relying on vaccines alone.
There is a "syphilis epidemic" in England according to government figures - and numbers do appear to be rising rapidly.

In 2010 there were 1617 cases diagnosed which is a rate of 2.9 per 1000.
In 2019 there...
@Forbin Your link to "simple wikipedia" doesn't work for me.
Another factor in the effects of exsanguination is how fast the patient loses blood. If they have a chronic bleed it can drag things out for a very long time - literally years. This is one of the factors in my own ill health.
I think, when it comes to any mention of stress, that researchers constantly confuse cause and effect.
If you are doing a job that you enjoy you are probably not stressed at all or not very much.
If you are doing a job that you like but are trying to do it while suffering from severe pain you...
Acceptance and commitment therapy sounds to me like "suck it up and get lost" therapy. Alternatively it also sounds "religious" to me i.e. God gave you these burdens to bear and ACT will help you to do it with a big glowing smile on your face like religious paintings of the saints.
I thought some of the vaccines used for Covid-19 were brand new and experimental. So how can past history be used as a guide to how people will react to them?
@Sly Saint
Those experiences in the women's voices section are not remotely surprising. But I don't think they picked the worst ones to print by a long chalk - I've seen surveys asking about actual experiences, and what is said and done to the patient was much worse than the examples in the...
Can I go and stamp on the legs of the authors please, make sure they don't get supplied with pain relief, and see how pain interferes with their lives.
That began as a result of a British terrorist trying to set off a suicide bomb while he was on a plane. It had been built into his shoes. Other passengers realised he was trying to set something alight and managed to stop him.
