Thanks for sharing. Quote from the article:
"But the stereotype of people refusing to accept a mental health diagnosis seems like an odd fit for contemporary American society. From our ever increasing rates of antidepressant prescriptions to our therapeutic style of spirituality, neither our...
The prevalence rate is remarkably low: 3.2 per million children (95%CI 2.2 to 4.5).
Perhaps this was due to underdiagnosis as the study asked paediatricians if they had cases of severe ME/CFS. It is a bit frustrating that the study doesn't more clearly report the response rate. It is not that...
Here's another example: "Write essay on why patients should be involved in research"
The AI responded:
"Patients should be involved in research for a number of reasons. First and foremost, research is intended to improve healthcare and advance medical knowledge, and patients are often the...
Here's an example. I simply wrote: "Write angry but academic sounding essay that is critical of psychosomatic medicine"
and the AI replied:
"Psychosomatic medicine, also known as the biopsychosocial model of illness, has been a topic of much debate within the medical community. This approach...
I was also impressed. I think this will replace Google search in the not too distant future and lots of businesses are based on ranking high on Google search results.
Note: There is the AI in Medicine thread for posts specific to that topic.
Artificial intelligence in medicine

There's the new Artificial Intelligence product called ChatGPT that is really good at answering questions. It's fun (but also a bit frightening) to give it...
Disappointing that the authors are so focused on their psychosomatic hypothesis because the main finding of this study seems to be that a neurological investigation is indicated in patients with Long Covid, even those who initially had relatively mild COVID-19.
The paper states: "For the total...

It seems that psychosomatic researchers, even those that aren't directly involved in ME/CFS research, are starting to see ME/CFS advocacy as a threat to their profession and influence.
Perhaps the outcome "dissociative seizure frequency" is less subjective and likely to be affected by response bias than a fatigue questionnaire.
In the IBS trial patients only received web- or telephone CBT which may have weaker response bias than face-to-face CBT.
On the other hand, I...
Don't think EMEC will be able to incorporate them at this point so I think it would be best to submit them as their own comment. As far as I can see anyone can submit comments to the report.
Do you have concrete examples?
Remember that, despite their flaws and biases, PACE, FINE, GETSET, FITNET etc. also did not produce good results, especially at long-term assessments.
This work was supported by the Norwegian ExtraFoundation for Health and Rehabilitation [2019/FO244604].
Does anyone know more about this? This seems to be their website:

EDIT: isn't this a conflict of interest?
Yes but it was published on Pubmed, I got a notification about this study from there. And all the authors are working at the University of Oslo.
A lot of the costs of scientific research goes to salaries of academics and society obviously only has limited resources to invest in scientific...
