Assuming the new NICE guideline is more or less along the lines of the draft, I wonder how long it will be before crud like this gets finally purged. Years I suspect.
Sorry, my comment was likely misleading. I fully endorse what you say here, and was not in any way meaning to suggest a wider readership of the final pre-print copy should be expected. Far, far from it. More than happy for our team to sort, and have full trust in them. I was just being a pedant...
I'm genuinely confused @Andy. If the only people allowed to comment on the final pre-release copy are those who will not have seen it ... how does that work?
If the BPS brigade had any concept of real empathy, rather than the faux-empathy they so arrogantly dispense, then they would not have caused so much distress to so many people over all these decades. The responses these people have provided down the years seems to demonstrate a total inability...
Has S4ME received this yet? There is clearly going to be a lot for the S4ME team to check, in whatever time there will be left to do the checking.
What is the deadline for submission by stakeholders of corrections, clarifications etc? NICE presumably need some interval prior to the 18th during...
To me it is like the ME/CFS patient being akin to a car having a problem with its engine, or fuel supply etc, so the flow of energy cannot meet what are perfectly normal energy demands.
Whereas the other case is akin to the engine, fuel supply etc being perfectly OK, but the brakes are sticking...
As most of you know, I have no medical knowledge, so this is just my own thought from an engineer's perspective.
The one common factor I would have thought is energy demand. When we are looking, listening, etc, there is considerable signal processing involved, which is pretty intensive. The...
Yep, I often use a temporary Word document, Ctrl-C into. And with any word Doc etc I habitually save it anyway, Ctrl-S.
In due course this may all prove to be the most convincing and damning evidence yet to the wider public of what the these people really are like.
They have such a lot to answer for, and I cannot help admitting part of me hopes they end up having to, via strictly legal mechanisms I emphasise. In a very real sense they have, by their incompetence and arrogance, effectively destroyed the lives of so very many good people, with no a hint of...
[my bold]
Yes! BPS spin yet again, trying to divert attention from the fact that what has really changed, is people are finally waking up to how bankrupt their pseudo-science really is.
That is part of the reason for updating the guideline, the old one got all of this stuff wrong.
I think that would be hoping for too much. Hopefully it means the new guideline will not be a watered down version of the draft, in an attempt to win everyone over.
Just some thoughts ...
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps he is taking to ensure that clinical studies for (a) ME, chronic fatigue syndrome and (b) long-covid:
Are designed without any presumption, implicit or otherwise, that simply because the symptoms are as...
