Thyroid hormones treatment for subclinical hypothyroidism: a clinical practice guideline (2019) G E Bekkering et. al

If this is the case then the GP(s) haven't read the full recommendations! See below [bolding mine] This recommendation may not apply to Those with severe symptoms, as few were included in the studies reviewed. However, there is no clear evidence on how to attribute symptoms to SCH reliably...

    GET/GAT being misrepresented as 'pacing'?

When my daughter plugs in the hoover my cats run away. When I plug in the hoover they just sit still and look at me - knowing the probability of me actually using it is very remote...

Do ME symptoms fit with the faulty energy metabolism hypothesis?

This is also true for me - when in PEM. However, at the time of using my muscles for a specific physical activity the immediate fatigability is in the muscles I am using (e.g., arm or leg).

Do ME symptoms fit with the faulty energy metabolism hypothesis?

Yes, definitely (for me too)! If I overdo things on a 'better day' than I find it hard to go to sleep as I feel mentally 'wired' but physically tired. But the 'crash', extreme worsening of all my ME symptoms (physical and cognitive) happens the next day - only after sleeping - sometimes...

    Chronic Overlapping Pain Conditions

I've just been exploring my local Chronic Pain Service's website and came across a link to this video: [In the top left there is an icon which links to the playlist of the 6 videos covering the complete lecture] In it the speaker mentioned a term new to me, 'Chronic Overlapping Pain...

David Tuller crowdfund: Trial By Error: Reporting on ME/CFS and Related Controversies

I've used the Cashplus Prepaid 'Flexiplus' Mastercard in the past: https://www.cashplus.com/pricing/ As I rarely used it, it was most economical for me to pay the £1 charge per transaction with no monthly charges, but there are other options available. It was very convenient to use as the...

UK: 'Claimants health put at risk by fit note scandal' B & W News

I wouldn't usually post the news from the Benefits and Work website, but this item will be relevant to anyone claiming ESA or UC. From 26th March updates: In spite of the risk to claimants’ health, the DWP are wilfully discouraging doctors from issuing fit notes to employment and support...

    Westminster Health Forum

These usually take place 9 am - 1 pm in London, but occasionally they are delivered in other cities. An example of a...

England, Bristol: Using and understanding research evidence workshop

I don't think the people who run PHWE have any influence on the research being done by University of Bristol. It really wouldn't be appropriate to use the workshop for this purpose as it is designed as a learning opportunity for members of the public. It may be appropriate to use SMILE, FINE...

Amber Rudd recently announced a proposal to combine the face to face assessments of PIP and ESA (or Universal Credit) into one: https://www.disabilitynewsservice.com/reaction-to-rudds-reforms-tinkering-crumbs-and-fears-of-a-trojan-horse-for-cuts/ However, I believe this 'cross-referencing' has...
