ME/CFS: The urgent need for improved generalist medical education
ME/CFS is associated with verifiable pathology including autonomic dysfunction, reduced cerebral blood flow, increased immune system activation, and disordered hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal function.(4) Current streams of...
So they are going to publish their results in early 2022. Looking forward to it because I have to increasingly deal with people in my FB group who already present this as the known mechanism and cure not only for long covid but ME/CFS.
I have no problem with this direction of research though...
Only locally well-known people in this case but delta is seriously making the rounds here (we are at an all-time high of cases and recently we have been in the very top countries in terms of deaths per capita, sometimes occupying the number one spot).
So today, a famous rock singer has died of...
I didn't know where to put this but wanted to share: These days I follow a few researchers and doctors who are very pro-vaccine and appear frequently in Hungarian media talking about covid. I'm also a member of a heavily moderated FB group where a group of doctors answer questions, mostly in...
I don't know, a "switch has been pressed" sounds like a good description for mine too. I mean it is indeed a bit like as if a switch got turned off when it starts and turned on when it ends (but maybe that's not what you meant).
Tired is not a good word for me either. It feels very different...
I'm not sure if this is the same reason for you, but I have extreme fatigue as part of my disease and it is like this for me on my worse days. The fatigue is overwhelming, seemingly comes out of nowhere and totally knocks you out, and forces you to nap (and this is what mostly puts me in bed)...
Who is forcing them there? I might be missing something here... o_O
Edit: hopefully BPS people won't build this into their narrative and start saying ME/CFS campaigners literally favour the killing of covid survivors with their attitude... /sarcasm
Press release:
NLS Pharmaceutics Announces Preclinical Results Confirming the Potential Benefit and Safety Profile of NLS-4 for Circadian Rhythm Dysregulation and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in Long-Covid Model
I couldn't find a link to the study and currently I'm not feeling well enough to go...
@Andy The missing Facebook post may be due to current issues with FB. I also posted something on my ME/CFS FB page today and it disappeared after a short time. It still exists though because I'm getting a few likes but it is not visible to me when I look at the FB page with my admin account or...

“Chronic fatigue syndrome has been studied more in the past five to 10 years,” says Dr. Ankerman. “Before it...
ABSTRACT

Unfortunately, Twitter is really not popular in Hungary, so I have to stick with Facebook. (I have about 2500 followers there with about 450-500 group members but the algorythm is not my friend at all and most people aren't that much interested in advocacy to begin with - though a few pwME were...
So I sent a message to the Academy about the presentation above and they replied (my message was a list of questions about it actually). They absolutely avoided the topic about patients' threats or the claim that dozens of doctors left the field, they didn't address it at all. They replied there...
I have rewatched the video now and forgot to add one thing: he said the only reason LC is not called CFS is because doctors don't want to get involved in these kinds of things again, so it is just better to stick with LC.
So I decided to watch the long covid symposium of the Hungarian National Academy of Sciences but I only got to the third speaker when I decided to give up (although I semi-watched the next two but I was also too annoyed to really pay attention - I didn't miss a lot though: they mentioned...
VeryWell Health: How to Cope With Post-COVID Brain Fog
"Jackson said that psychological causes of brain fog should not be ruled out because anxiety can cause many of the symptoms. That said, he also acknowledges that "a lot of COVID survivors are a little cautious and uncomfortable when they...
