Discussion from author here: Lots of work/findings on endothelial cells / function recently, including in POTS. I have no idea what they are / do. :-$

Is this not it, further down that thread: PACE Trial application to MRC for funding in 2002

United Kingdom: ME Research Collaborative (MERC) [was CMRC] news

Yes, I guess it's a sort of a front for her advocacy work. She has used the term 'Alliance' in various forms to put on events etc in the past.

CDC Treatment Evidence Review - consultation period

I wonder if non-US organisations can submit evidence?

CDC Treatment Evidence Review - consultation period

I wonder if this is the closest thing the US has to the NICE Guideline. I remember reading about this a couple of years ago. There was concern that the Pacific Northwest Evidence-Based Practice Center was being awarded the contract with no competitive bidding process. MEAction teamed up with...

United Kingdom: ME Research Collaborative (MERC) [was CMRC] news

It's not really a formal organisation as such. I know Opal, the author of the book, through the CMRC PAG, which she has been involved with for many years.

Guardian: Long Covid is very far from ‘all in the mind’ – but psychology can still help us treat it - by Carmine M Pariante, April 2021

I think they'd have found that correlation by now if it existed. Pariante's talk at the 2018 CMRC conference included reference to the finding of low cortisol levels in ME/CFS patients and he then compared it with high cortisol found in depressed patients.

USA: InCellDx Dr Patterson - New lab service offering cytokine tests to Covid longhaulers

This looks highly suspect (and I'm not just talking about the website's aesthetics / design). The Myhill mitochrondia test comes to mind....

Guardian: Long Covid is very far from ‘all in the mind’ – but psychology can still help us treat it - by Carmine M Pariante, April 2021

I don't think we learned much. As I said to David Tuller yesterday—and others may disagree, but this is my personal opinion—I think there's enough biomedicine and biology in Pariante's work for it to be taken seriously. Any work on brain inflammation and central fatigue may prove important to...

Guardian: Long Covid is very far from ‘all in the mind’ – but psychology can still help us treat it - by Carmine M Pariante, April 2021

Edit [Pariante interview] starts at 2:19:00 - the segment is much longer and involves a long Covid patient before Pariante.

Did anyone manage to listen to this? I can't seem to find an option on the BBC London site to listen back.

NICE ME/CFS draft guideline - publication dates and delays 2020

I can't respond to any comments this afternoon, as I need a break. Maybe this evening. A reminder that the FOI materials are linked in the post. Unfortunately, there are lots of emails in separate files and they are not in chronological order. The filenames of key emails are referenced in the blog.

NICE ME/CFS draft guideline - publication dates and delays 2020

It is not 100% clear that the guideline panel has gone down the route of this further analysis to address GRADE indirectness, but I'm 90% sure from the emails that they have. As I state on the blog post, I feel this is primarily to address stakeholder comments, and not to make significant...
