No words can convey my complete and utter contempt for this wretched person.

The Chronic Elephant blog by hellytheelephant

It felt lovely :) I'm no great artist, and it hurts me to concentrate, so no drawing from life for me. I just picked up a charcoal pencil my son has and started drawing a spiral. I just let my hand do what it pleased. Shading and shaping, enjoying the sensation. I think and worry too much...

The Chronic Elephant blog by hellytheelephant

@Invisible Woman - so beautifully expressed. I especially love: Exactly how it feels. Exactly. @hellytheelephant I nodded quietly, laughed, and cried some more at things you've written. And I picked up a piece of charcoal and drew for the first time in years.

The Chronic Elephant blog by hellytheelephant

This was me, till 4am last night: "New Year's Day: I cracked. I had the mother and father of all crying jags of self pity. There was sobbing, breathlessness and hair stuck on my face from the floods of saline. It was like a dam bursting: one minute I was fine, then my stoical resources washed...

The Chronic Elephant blog by hellytheelephant

Welcome back @hellytheelephant  I'm delighted to discover your excellent blog. I'm so sorry your health has been so awful this summer. Living with chronic illnesses is a never ending struggle, and a lonely one. You've made me feel so much less alone today, just when I really, really...

PIP, ESA, and other things I can't claim

@Hell..hath..no..fury... So fantastic your assessor turned out to be honestly, truly nice! But OMG the stress you went through was totally torture. I'm totally ranted-out. For now. ;)

PIP, ESA, and other things I can't claim

This is an appalling situation. Totally NOT a comfort! The time away should be immaterial. In fact, time WORKED should be immaterial! I worked full time for 9 years before I left, part time for 6, and was gone 12 years. Had I worked 19 or 29 years these rotten waiting rules would be the same...

PIP, ESA, and other things I can't claim

Great advice @Invisible Woman, thank you! @Amw66 thanks for this - my first hurdle is that I've not disclosed to my GP that I even HAVE bloody ME! I'd thought of claiming for chronic migraines - they're disabling enough alone. Nope. Also discriminated against! The system isn't set up for...

PIP, ESA, and other things I can't claim

First off, I can't claim anything disability related for TWO YEARS after I've come back to the UK. :jawdrop: Then, there's this insanity with the PIP rules - you've got to be practically paralysed and drooling to receive ANY financial help for being unable to see to things round the house, and...

Is the 'fatigue'/'tiredness' experienced by pwME a form of Dynapenia?

I didn't think that at all @Trish. I thought, Broken Dynamo. As in the electricity generator. Our minds all jump differently! I think it's brilliant @Sly Saint I'll start using it, for sure  On my smug Dr brother, first up. :sneaky:

VegEpa - Fish Oil Swizz or Worth Trying?

Well, I'm popping the Tesco Fish oil on my next Tesco shopping order and ceasing to fret about it - @arewenearlythereyet and everyone else, your opinions and info has been fantastic! :)

Is the 'fatigue'/'tiredness' experienced by pwME a form of Dynapenia?

Hmm, I describe my current, crashed state as being totally enervated: verb (used with object), en·er·vat·ed,en·er·vat·ing. to deprive of force or strength; destroy the vigor of; weaken. adjective (ɪˈnɜːvɪt) deprived of strength or vitality; weakened It feels accurate.

    Proprioception Dexterity Balance

Thanks @Alvin. Aint never achieved 800. :jawdrop: I know the Japanese say 500 is low, for sure. Yes, exactly - we should all have several years of B12 stored - yet my meat eating, healthy diet son also recently turned up a low B12, (plus low folate), blood test. Maybe it's genetic? I need to...

    speech to type app?

@Subtropical Island I can't imagine the frustration of being that seriously dyslexic. Growing up and going to school couldn't have been easy for him. Luckily my son's dyslexia is nothing like as bad. He can read, but he stumbles a lot, ignores punctuation, and it's just sheer hard work. He...

VegEpa - Fish Oil Swizz or Worth Trying?

Thanks @Trish. As you know, I'm someone who needs units of measurement clarified and double checked ;) @Mij That's very interesting. Thanks! Love how you did the link! "To date, there is no simple and accurate laboratory test to determine the total body magnesium status in humans. Mg is...

VegEpa - Fish Oil Swizz or Worth Trying?

Wow @adambeyoncelowe you're an expert. :jawdrop: I was never advised to mega load like this. Maybe that's why my D level is still too low. Thank you so much for all this excellent information! It's interplay with calcium is interesting. I'm thinking of the opposite problem. Not enough calcium...

VegEpa - Fish Oil Swizz or Worth Trying?

@arewenearlythereyet I'll look at the Tesco's fish oil. Might as well add it to the on line shop. Gosh 5000 a day of vitamin D sound very high. Mine is 2000. Husband just said front page of tomorrow's Guardian says doctors shouldn't recommend people take vitamin D in winter because...

VegEpa - Fish Oil Swizz or Worth Trying?

Thanks everyone for your great replies. I'll stick to my nice, reasonably priced Vitamin D drops then. Bullet. Dodged. I can't see much reason for me to take fish oil at all - even the regular kind.

    Proprioception Dexterity Balance

I take Jarrows methylcobalamin 1000mcg daily. It can get me up to 650 whatever units on B12 blood tests, which is great. But then it can slide down again. Maybe I go through times when I'm not even absorbing it sublingually? Wouldn't be suprised. Everything digestive stops with migraines.
