    Wessely gets touchy feely

I agree he is very clever. The bit I've bolded I don't know because I don't know him, though I agree his behaviour, or perhaps the outcome of his behaviour is suggestive of this. It could be other things. I don't know what motivates him. I'm not as confident in proclaiming theories about what's...

As a psychologist I see the fantasy of neoliberal values having a devastating effect on mental healt

It's interesting you say this. In the history of England taxes originated as an income source for the King, especially if he wanted to build a palace or go to war or similar, and expanded and evolved from there over centuries. The idea that taxes are collected for the common good is a more...

Using Heart rate monitoring to help with pacing.

Yes I find this helpful too. It's a pity we don't all have the same devices. I'm wondering if it's possible design and carry out our own little study of some kind, or do a survey or something. I don't have any skills in this sort of area. This is a neglected area, and I for one have never...

    Bizarre sleep pattern

I'm awake at half 2 in the morning commenting in a bizarre sleep pattern thread *sigh* I get this, with the wired but tired feeling. I've got wired but tired right now. The other thing I get is a progression to migraines that involves my sleep cycle and PEM from a few days before. It starts...

Esther Crawley talk at TEDxBristol, Thurs 2nd Bristol - "Disrupting Your View Of ME"

Why was she holding her hands in that position throughout? I could understand it if she'd just butchered something or changed a nappy. Probably something along those lines. Joan of Arc comes to mind.

Are there symptoms you had in the early stages of ME that you no longer get?

Me too - this is the most significant symptom I remember that I don't have now - a terrible constant headache. I also had horrible pain in my neck and upper back. Other things were nausea, which I don't often have now, also the muscle at the base of my thumb used to spasm for 'no good reason'...
