Sounds like cyclo is still a possibility....
It would be nice to know if the "relief" experienced was temporary (like 1 or 2 months as @andypants reported) or longer. If it's only a short term response, then cyclo may not be great option. If it needs to re-administered...

But according to @Jonathan Edwards it will be difficult to do any blinded studies due to the nausea effect, etc. of cyclo so there may only be more open trials....
It would be nice to get this translated into Chinese, Hindi/Urdu, Spanish, Arabic, French, Malay, Russian, Bengali, Portuguese, Punjabi, German, Japanese, etc., etc., to distribute.....(if allowed by copyright)......
