Esther Crawley talk at TEDxBristol, Thurs 2nd Bristol - "Disrupting Your View Of ME"

She' s a scientist (?). The only way to deal with this is to counter narrative with facts and references. The claim re children is untrue - Dowsett + Colby researched school attendance as indicator for ME in 1990s, ( i think) and published a study on it. Most can be debunked in a similar...

Vitamin D status in chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis: a cohort study from the North-West of England

A narrow look at vit D. It underwrites around 5% of your whole genome and is integral to immune system. It would perhaps have been better to look at levels when first diagnosed . We had to push to be taken seriously requesting this and had some very sheepish faces at the surgery when results...

BBC File on 4 programme 'Children with ME'

He deserves thanks for this. Whilst it did not include a lot of info , and could have provided more graphic info ( a lot was not used), it opened a dialogue with the general ( radio4) audience , and added to other media coverage.

Journalist seeks people harmed by / coerced into GET, children harmed by GET or parents accused of abuse

Perhaps @Nathalie Wright you could compare ME to cancer. Contrast the provision of specialists, research, funding, access to education and benefits, and media profile. People look at me askance when i gave said it would be easier if my daughter had cancer- horrendous to say but we would have a...

Given the questioning re the efficacy of CBT per se, i can envisage a lot of papers in the pipeline suggesting its use for many conditions to preserve infrastructure and staff...not due to either its appropriateness or effectiveness

    Thyroid, autoimmune thyroiditis, Hashimoto's

I'm looking at this from a slightly different angle as I've gone backwards to look at wider picture and not just post glandular fever onset. My daughter started to noticeably have allergic reactions after chickenpox ( pre school), shingles ( pre age 10) and glandular fever( age 14) specifically...
