Update: 11 days past shot #2, am still nearly a zombie. The slightest hint of activity knocks me out.
Edit: While I think these vx are a fantastically good accomplishment, I’m wondering if I’d have been better off without it. It required 3 tries to type this - just the edit.
Twitter: the word means bird sounds or meaningless chatter. A person who twitters is called a twit. In practice, Twitter is a forum for emotional outbursts and gossip.
The ancients, who had not yet educated themselves to be fools, thought gossip to be a hazard so great that they inscribed a...
USA usage for prescriptions. I mean it to include all prescription and over the counter stuff I have/need to manage ME/CFS. 2. I can’t wait for a better word for our condition(s).
Do we even know if we have worse, the same or (unlikely) better outcomes after covid as compared to the general population?
I got the shot as soon as I could, in part because I did not have the capacity to weigh in balance highly speculative an incomplete information on whether I’d be more...
If I do nothing at all other than my standard Rx, at some point I’ll get considerably better over several months. After a while, a seemingly trivial stressor, the change of seasons or in some cases nothing I can detect will smash me back to pre improvement level. Any huckster promoted placebo...
Not just medicine but the band name media which the credulous still trust. The Atlantic was bought out by a billionaire heiress and is now a vantiy/hobby publication, but with the same brand and name associations it had 50 years ago. In that, it is not unique.
Welll, intense exercise can take your mind off things. I remember someone I met in the weight room who stated that the only thing she could do to manage migraines was weightlifting. She moved considerably more weight than the other females at the gym. Did that cure the headaches? No, but she...
I don’t seem to get colds or flu much now. When I do I’m exhausted but have a less of the miserable sore throat, cough and so forth than previously. I do get the flu shot every year and that seems to also make colds shorter and milder, as in the years I’ve skipped the flu shot I’ve had more and...
Dunno if u are replying to me, but Pfizer. I’d say it’s more about me than the vaccine, someone in halfway normal health would not have my issues. But ... someone else at S4me might. I’m expecting the knockdown to wear off, don’t know when. Certainly more than a week, probably less than a...
2nd shot plus 6 days. So whacked I can’t type out the effects. Exhausted is not a great enough word.
The stories of ‘this wonderstuff produced a remission in a bunch o lucky folks’ sound like a lotta turning anecdote into evidence.
Couple things you might want to consider:
Since you got M.E, have you had reactions to other vaccines?
What’s your risk profile for Covid? If you are under 50 and not overweight, your risk is much lower than in the opposite case.
Perhaps they are simply ignorant. Difficult diseases are entirely and completely out of their field of expertise. It is after all the journal of Wall Street, not the journal of Everyday Street. Says so right there on the tin.
Seems like we have very different experiences with the same shot. No surprise I suppose, nothing about this disease makes sense.
For me it’s now the 15 past the first dose. I still have reduced capacity, meaning more PEM after doing less. No other vaccine has had this effect on me.
Edit...
I may be running up to the line of comment moderation here, but I think this points out the necessity of having a somewhat decentralized healthcare system. If it’s the national provider and it’s policies or nothing, things like this will happen. No bureaucracy will account for the vast range of...
The activity monitor shouldn’t be a Fitbit or similar casual use device. I used one and it did sort of work, but not well enough for a scientific study. It’s also not waterproof, at least not washing machine proof. Oops.

Update, day 13 after 1st Pfizer. I’m still below prior levels of function, but there’s been a gradual improvement this week. Hmm... Improvement is not right term, something like lessworsening feels more appropriate...
Most of us don’t go anywhere and don’t do anything, so the combo of catching the bug and catching it just after receiving the shot is a rather low probability event
