A neuro-inflammatory model can explain the onset, symptoms and flare-ups of ME/CFS, 2019, Mackay

Thanks @Milo. It would be interesting to do a poll on the topic some day. So sorry it was so rough for you.

A neuro-inflammatory model can explain the onset, symptoms and flare-ups of ME/CFS, 2019, Mackay

I think that's extremely rare. Curious, did you feel better after the flu? I've had a few fevers, but they typically last 2, maybe 3 days at best, and maybe one has reached 102-103F.

A neuro-inflammatory model can explain the onset, symptoms and flare-ups of ME/CFS, 2019, Mackay

THAT is the $64,000,000 dollar question. Why is it that if we happen to actually start to get a reaction to some bug going around, we never get a "real" fever, like one does with a functioning immune system, but instead, we barely manage a half-baked semi-fever, or struggle with chills, etc., in...

The Stanford Daily: Stanford Medicine professor (José Montoya) fired for violating University rules of conduct (june 2019)

"His termination occurred after an investigation, led by an outside attorney and an unnamed Stanford faculty member, found what Singh called “multiple violations of the University’s conduct policies.” The investigation was launched in response to “complaints relating to his conduct,” according...

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

Unfortunately -- or fortunately -- there are no studies that back up either claim. Except for a few authored by Marshall, Proal, or the RN on his team, Meg Mangin. And all of them published in questionable journals.

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

I agree the microbiome is an important field of study. My problem is the integrity of the author, who on that very page tells people that "I worked with the Marshall Protocol in the early days", when in fact she's continued to author papers -- including another one on vitamin D -- and several...

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

YES. Me too. I was trying to think of her name and the situation, but all I remember is that he was almost successful...was kind of counting on the fact that his filing was last minute and that she was so sick she wouldn't be able to get to the court, but she did, and stopped him from proceeding.

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

Lastly, and I do mean lastly, Ms. Proal, writes on her latest blog (not sure what happened to 'bacteriality.com' where she interviews patients who yes, avoided both regular light, wore sunglasses inside, and avoided sunlight), that she is "a microbiologist who also suffers from ME/CFS." My...

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

Again, they claim that vitamin D must be avoided because it suppresses the immune system. This is simply not true. Among many functions, it modulates and regulates immunity, is antimicrobial, and low levels are associated with many serious health conditions...

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

Thanks for posting many of the links, websites @TiredSam. I wanted to just point out some of the testimonials, albeit anecdotal, from folks who became a lot worse after the MP, and were ignored or belittled by Marshall and his troops at least up through 2010-2011, when they shut down the...

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

Only a handful, relatively speaking 'started pursuing antiretroviral treatments'. And I for one never thought I had that silly contamination. Mikovits was an embarrassment within a month of her 'discovery'. The last few years she's completely jumped the shark, appearing on obscure talk radio and...

Nasobiotex L. Sakei Probiotic Powder for sinus microbiome - anyone tried it?

@heavenscent Not sure what's happening, but my uneducated guess would be that the l. sakei might be helping or trying to rid your sinuses of stuff that has built up or been stuck there for years. It might just be a normal reaction. I've been using it off and on and am getting some stuff out...

Hypothesis piece by Amy Proal, a microbiologist with ME/CFS

A convenient answer. Well, that must be the 2019 version. So now the sun is good, no one has to avoid it. That's funny... The fact remains that anyone with half a working brain like myself can find the history of the MP and even some of the original pages of it's original site where it is...

For those who haven't seen it, here's the product -- and this is before I started using it.

Nasobiotex L. Sakei Probiotic Powder for sinus microbiome - anyone tried it?

Yeah, I would avoid that and most other nasal sprays because most of them contain benzalkonium chloride, which can have adverse effects: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10566570 Anyway, thanks for your reply @Webdog . I'm guessing then that you went through the product a lot faster than...

Nasobiotex L. Sakei Probiotic Powder for sinus microbiome - anyone tried it?

@Webdog, nonstopflu and others. I finally, finally got some of the Nasobiotex probiotic and started taking it a couple days ago. Soon after I my sinus infection actually got worse, but that could be related to the fact I had to go to the ER on Saturday after some weird chest 'pains' (very dull...

Metabolic features and regulation of the healing cycle—A new model for chronic disease pathogenesis and treatment, Robert K Naviaux, 2018

It could also be argued that ME docs will tell you that it's your experience and opinions that have helped them understand and study the illness. That opinion and experience is important.

Metabolic features and regulation of the healing cycle—A new model for chronic disease pathogenesis and treatment, Robert K Naviaux, 2018

I'm not sure why you would consider your opinion to have less weight @Wonko. It's just as valid as anyone else's, at least in my opinion. :)

Metabolic features and regulation of the healing cycle—A new model for chronic disease pathogenesis and treatment, Robert K Naviaux, 2018

Certainly we all have different definitions of the word 'heal'. Personally, when I think of 'heal', I mean 'to rebuild, repair, or make healthy or whole again'. Others obviously have other definitions. Naturally there "isn't anything consistent between patients", because it's probably very...
