Ozempic, tirzepatide and other GLP-1RAs - impact on ME/CFS

Ah sorry somehow missed it when searching. I guess it’s still a tiny bit relevant since I got it presented to me as a ME/CFS treatment in local groups

Ozempic, tirzepatide and other GLP-1RAs - impact on ME/CFS

This “paper” had been floating around my CFS groups, it’s mostly about MCAS, but lots of ppl using it to justify the use of GLP1 in ME/CFS since now in some circles ME/CFS is “comorbid” with MCAS. After reading these case reports I have to agree MCAS seems to encompass anything under the sun in...

Advancing regulatory variant effect prediction with AlphaGenome 2026 Avsec et al

Interesting stuff. Unfortunately I’m away for a while (why I haven’t gotten back to decode FLAMES). I’ll try to check this out as well. I should have free time in end of Feb, life and being sick does not leave much time for other activities. Just wanted to say, I personally like the alpha go...

The LIFT trial (OMF) - Pyridostigmine (mestinon) and Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

Yes! Sorry was late last night reading that now makes sense. I also see that BC women’s in Canada is doing an LDN only: https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05430152 So we should finally have lots of placebo controlled data.

The LIFT trial (OMF) - Pyridostigmine (mestinon) and Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

Was just reading this letter that says Jarred Younger over hyped those results: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12765631/ Dumb question but is this trial have just LDN and just mestinon arms? To me it looks like the participants take both? I really like this trial to sort out if LDN...

    The Born Free Protocol

“Sound biochemical principles” sounds similar to what Ron Davis said, “the biochemistry is brilliant”. Could be repetition of others comments Sounds like a game of telephone to me

Uncovering the genetic architecture of ME/CFS: a precision approach reveals impact of rare monogenic variation, 2025, Birch, Younger et al

I’ve volunteered before but I’m an identical twin with me/cfs, where my brother is healthy. Please contact me if you do this!

Problems arising for pwME from additional diagnoses of MCAS, hEDS and POTS. Advocacy discussion.

Just to clear my definitions, so I can grasp how these “syndromes” are already defined. If I were to bring these symptoms up to a doctor what would be the correct way? POT(s) already is covered by orthostatic intolerance. What would you say a “MCAS” patient would say, food intolerance...

Multi-omics identifies lipid accumulation in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome cell lines: a case-control study, 2026, Missailidis et

These labs were done through quest labs but purchased 3rd party. I paid out of pocket for them as both sides of my family have extreme risk for heart disease, attacks in 50s. I used this company, I bought on Black Friday 20% off, still the full price for this many markers its pretty wild at...

Uncovering the genetic architecture of ME/CFS: a precision approach reveals impact of rare monogenic variation, 2025, Birch, Younger et al

Wow awesome to see these responses, I think an open dialogue with the authors is always awesome. I don’t have much to add but still a bit confused on the criteria used, will you only announce once the final draft is updated? Maybe I’m not reading this correctly but I’m still unsure what...

Do you feel worse, better or the same when you wake compared to when you went to sleep?

Wrecked. I have a second wind 9pm-11pm this is probably when I feel the best. Sucks feeling better right when you need to sleep. Mornings are terrible, the only thing comparable for me is a hangover from pre-me/cfs. I distinctly remember first getting sick being weirded out about how...

Multi-omics identifies lipid accumulation in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome cell lines: a case-control study, 2026, Missailidis et

Are there current plans to try this with fresh cells? Or tbd due to more pressing data from other sources? Very interesting all around!

Multi-omics identifies lipid accumulation in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome cell lines: a case-control study, 2026, Missailidis et

To be honest I asked because my triglycerides were insanely high double the top limit, while I have normal BMI for 30s and slightly elevated cholesterol. These were also high, I went for advanced metabolic testing: Apolipoprotein A1 Apolipoprotein B (Apo B) Large HDL P Large VLDL P SMALL LDL P...

Any reason to think you would be able to see these high lipids in blood serum, high triglycerides?

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) - discussion thread

What would expect to see if MCAS was implicated in decodeME? What in the current decodeME data is suggesting it’s not? Wanting to understand how decodeME could show a positive or negative correlation to the connection

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) - discussion thread

Been loosely following this thread, my questions and maybe it has already been answered in the early pages of this thread, is what does MCAS as a model need to do to get some foundational basis? I can see from lightly browsing that a big complaint is they ascribe many symptoms, does there need...

    Salt

Any reason why so many POT(S) patients seem to report better control of tachycardia on high salt intake? The entire Pots subreddit is all about salt! It never did jack for me… Extra hydration only?

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, Einstein (allegedly), a rant about psychobehavioural research

I think I know the trial you're referring to, it involved an "app" reporting? These "app" based protocols to me also seem to be a side effect of AI slop. Anyone can slap together an app now for tracking symptoms. It's just the same old with a new spin, throw an app in the picture and now you've...

Hypothesis Does Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Represent a Poly-Herpesvirus Post-Virus Infectious Disease?, 2025, Ariza et al

Nvm I read the paper and IM250 would not effect EBV or HHV-6. Also they are saying it’s earlier than the viral replication stage which is what IM-250 stops
