Q: Does ME/CFS change rate of caffeine metabolism?

Yeah I read that, the abstract at least. I couldn't find the exact amount of time the study placed between caffeine in and subject sleep. It was quoted as 3-5 hours in a report on the study, I couldn't find any specific figure skimming through the paper itself. Didn't read it all, just skimmed...

Q: Does ME/CFS change rate of caffeine metabolism?

Interesting that tea and coffee work out differently for you. Their composition is different, so it makes sense.

Q: Does ME/CFS change rate of caffeine metabolism?

I'm not sure where to put this one. Just wondering if any of the more biologically literate here know if our condition decreases the rate one metabolizes caffeine. The rule of thumb is 50% is metabolized every 5 hours, so by 10 hours it should be gone for practical purposes unless one was...

Rolling seat / rollator is there anything to know before buying?

OK, I see a problem right away: Edit: I see the problem, I did a search for "rollator" not "rollator with seat". But this is the sort of addled cognition that makes everything more complex that it should be. Trying again with different search terms. Some (or all?) of the things described...

Rolling seat / rollator is there anything to know before buying?

Don't be sorry! That's the sort of info I need so that I don't go through rounds of buying and trying stuff that turns out to be unusable. I probably wouldn't see that right away, because the trip to go get something will eat enough energy that I'm even more brain-softened than usual.

Rolling seat / rollator is there anything to know before buying?

W Well, there's more involved than I'd thought. I had a feeling that the one model of this I see now and then probably won't work out. Where can one shop for these in the USA? I'm only familiar with pharmacy chains, which probably have all of one model, chosen because it's covered by Medicare...

Rolling seat / rollator is there anything to know before buying?

I've decided to finally break down and buy a either a rolling seat thing or a light portable chair. Is there anything to know before buying one of these? I've avoided getting one, but doing errands and shopping inevitably leads to a crash, and taking a sitting break at regular intervals should...

Mitochondrial function in patients affected with fibromyalgia syndrome is impaired and correlates with disease severity, 2024, Macchi

Interesting! Can you explain how it shows a statistical shift but no material significance? I have no background, so I can't read the study and sort it into a 'keep' or 'toss' file.

Mitochondrial function in patients affected with fibromyalgia syndrome is impaired and correlates with disease severity, 2024, Macchi

@Murph Given that "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" (How I hate that term!) seems to be triggered after any physiologic demand on one's body, (although not in direct proportion to caloric output), aren't mitochondria the most likely common pathway? Put another way, almost anything that causes my...

Article: Science: Is exercise actually good for the brain?

Can't speak to the science, but I do know that when I was able to exercise to a significant extent, it improved my sleep and thinking ability. Obviously, trying that now has different results.

10 easy ways to reduce your fatigue fast! Times article about Katrina Antram

A major newspaper is not an innocent victim. They can research, they could speak to people who have a disease, they could speak to people with actual expertise. They choose not to, and that’s a choice, not an accident.

SARS-CoV-2 spike protein induces TLR4-mediated long-term cognitive dysfunction recapitulating post-COVID syndrome in mice, 2023

One has to wonder if the spike protein produced after mRNA covid vaccine has the same effect.

Physical fatigue is in the brain as much as in the body, 2022, Robson

Last I checked, one's brain was part of one's body. Perhaps the study author would consent to having their non-body part brain removed and thereafter repeating their observations.

Can you get the tooth repaired or removed? Long term abx is trouble, possibly big trouble. Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

after developing flaccid, shuffling legs and a tendency to drop things after the second vaccine shot, I recall being told that neuropathy was a side effect. Covid-19 vaccines and vaccinations

while I have no special letters after my name, i can say the nature of this entire class of virus is that it constantly mutates. Some of the mutations result in new versions of the virus. This is because of the essential steps of the virus replication, there’s nothing unique unexpected or usual...

Overview of the Main Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Vaccines: Mechanism of Action, Efficacy and Safety; Mascellino et al 2021

"The efficacy of Pfizer and Moderna for preventing disease or severe disease results 95– 87.5% and 94.5– 100%, respectively. " That sounds like the efficacy for the original strain and not the following variants.
