    UK: Walk for ME

Thanks for posting this @Dolphin My energy has been taken up with other things so far this year, and I completely forgot to post! We are a bit thin on walkers this year, so if anyone knows someone who might be interested in doing a walk we'd love to hear from them. Also sharing our social media...

Cayenne pepper - improved my circulation & warmth

That was me as well. I used to need the electric blanket on for a good while. I’ve not needed it since trialing the cayenne though.

Cayenne pepper - improved my circulation & warmth

One of my most constant symptoms over the years has been the inability to keep warm. After reading there is some evidence that cayenne pepper acts as a vasodilator I’ve been trialing 1000mg supplements for the last month, and it actually does seem to have helped. I wouldn’t say that I am now...

    UK: Walk for ME

@ahimsa Thank you. The post is great It's an amazing amount people have raised, especially given the current economic situation. We're just running the Bluesky account as a Twix backup really, in case Twix goes goes caput. Mastodon and Threads are probably better for activism, but I believe...

    Sewing and accessible sewing machines

Thank you @MEMarge I had a bit more of a tinker with my current machine and seem to have got it running better. I've yet to try sewing anything with it yet though. I've learnt a lot about sewing machines anyway!

    Sewing and accessible sewing machines

Fingers crossed for your husband @Suffolkres. Glad you found one! @Kitty Some advice would be useful, thank you. I'll message you if that's ok, rather than clogging up this thread. My good news is I gave my sewing machine a service today and it's improved it a lot. It looked like a cam was...

    Sewing and accessible sewing machines

@Midnattsol @lunarainbows @Kitty Thank you. I can't really justify a digital machine for my usage, but I quite often browse used sewing machine listings on ebay, and then get overwhelmed trying to work out which might be an improvement to my current machine

    Sewing and accessible sewing machines

@Midnattsol & @lunarainbows Are they digital sewing machines you have? I do some occasional simple sewing, and have a basic machine from Lidl, but the pedal is snatchy and I can't get a slow speed even connecting it to a dimmer switch.

UK disability statistics: Prevalence and life experiences, August 2023

I don't know, looking at the disability criteria I can see it being that. I do think it would be more useful if they broke it down into working and non working groups though.

    UK: Walk for ME

Thank you, greatly appreciated :) We are considering expanding to more social media sites, but as we all have ME it's a question of working out which platforms get the most traction for the least amount time and energy.

Advice for difficulty texting on smartphone due to issues with fine motor skills/coordination

@JemPD You might like to look at Samsung's Note line of smart phones that come with a very good styli. They support palm rejection, which means you can lean your hand on the phone screen but it only registers the pen input. Also both iPhone and Android support handwriting to text conversion if...

Advice for difficulty texting on smartphone due to issues with fine motor skills/coordination

Would a tablet with a SIM slot be an option, if you don't need to be carry it on you? Or a keyboard for a smart phone? You can get ones that connect wirelessly that also have a track pad, or also you can just use a regular USB keyboard?
