COMAR is the BMA's policy forum for medical academics.

We welcome doctors engaged in medical research and medical education in higher education institutions, in the NHS and in industry. All doctors engaged in this work at all stages of their career are invited to put themselves forward to attend.

COMAR provides an opportunity each year for medical academics representing their institutions or regions and nations from across the UK to discuss key issues, network, share experiences and set priorities for and elect members to MASC (medical academic staff committee) for the coming year.
Apparently this year is the first time the BMA has debated a motion put forward by the Patient Liason Group. The motion was passed unanimously.

I'm sceptical about what this will mean for patients looking to challenge the BMA's approach, but who knows?

Yeah, colour me sceptical until they have proven otherwise. If their approach is anything like the BPS cult then patients and views allowed to be expressed will be carefully vetted, respectfully listened to, and then largely ignored.
