CBD oil: Have the benefits been overstated? (BBC Health)

Sales of the cannabis extract cannabidiol (CBD) have roughly doubled over the past two years in the UK. But some are concerned that CBD products are not all they claim to be.

Alongside reputable sellers, the rapid growth of the industry has attracted "CBD cowboys" - opportunists trying to make a quick profit - according to Mark Reinders, president of the European Hemp Industry Association.

There are two main compounds found in cannabis - CBD and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Unlike THC, CBD is legal, doesn't make you high and is easily available on high streets and online.

I tried a CBD vape a couple of years ago. It did absolutely nothing. I passed it on to a friend with arthritis and I think it did nothing for her too (though she was used to smoking the traditional stuff for her pain and she said there’s was no comparison between the two)

I went through a terrible period with ADHD. I was always restless, unable to focus on anything for more than a few minutes, and it really frustrated me that nothing seemed to help. Then I started using THC for ADHD from Releaf, and the change was huge. I got my focus and energy back.

CBD did nothing for my pain or anything else. I might as well have drunk water. I tried two supposedly very reputable brands.
