I thought I'd post the information that's listed on the Zoom registration page: Topic: Long COVID & Fatiguing Illness Recovery Program - Monthly Session Description: A CDC-funded monthly webinar-style ECHO learning session to rapidly disseminate Post-acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) findings and emerging best practices.
Just saw this image on twitter with more information about who's behind this webinar series. At the end there's an email address for questions: LCecho@salud.unm.edu Tweet from @itsbodypolitic

A recording of the ECHO webinar held on April 14th (Autonomic/Cardiac Manifestations of Post-COVID Conditions) has been posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q78jShl0-d4
I watched part of this video. I stopped at about minute 25 or 26. Some parts were okay, but at minute 21 he showed this slide warning about the "Downward Spiral in PASC" (PASC = Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19). The slide says PASC, so I thought maybe he just means those patients without PEM/PESE, since there are a lot of other post-COVID situations. But when he presents the slide he uses the term Long Covid. And he does not mention screening for PEM/PESE. It sounds like the same old theory that patients are just exercise averse. From the video transcript (with a few typos corrected): It's so important to manage the symptoms because without managing the symptoms they will get worse. Here's what we call the downwards downward spiral in Long Covid, where the initial COVID-19 illness, of course, with common symptoms like fatigue and orthostatic intolerance leads to bed rest. Now it's quite impressive how quickly bed rest can lead to deconditioning. In studies by Dr. Ben Levine at UT Southwestern it's shown [that] as little as 20 hours of bed rest already promotes cardiac atrophy and evidence of deconditioning. And deconditioning then begets worsening symptoms, worsening palpitations, worsening exercise intolerance. And then this leads to more bed rest in a lot of our patients too, which can lead to more deconditioning, and then the cycle repeats. So it's important to break this cycle by helping to alleviate symptoms. I thought I'd pass this on.
Here are the treatment and summary screens, as well as a link to Dr. Ben Levine https://utswmed.org/doctors/benjamin-levine/ who works at an institution that doesn't even list ME or CFS as conditions that they treat. I'm not well enough to summarize his impressive page, it's best to just go there. Dr. Bateman and JD Davids from ME Action were part of the Q & A. I was very disappointed that they didn't use that opportunity more to our benefit. I fear we are going to be selling our sleep shirts off of our backs and our sheets off of our beds to fund @dave30th for a long time to come with educational materials like this going out.
