In honor of ME/CFS Awareness Month, here is an easy fundraising action item to donate up to 5% of your grocery shopping to ME/CFS nonprofits at no cost to you. This is mainly for residents of the San Francisco Bay Area, California, and some other states in the U.S.

Sign-up at http://escrip.com for up to 5% of all of your future grocery shopping at eScrip's retail partners to be donated to the nonprofits of your choice. Currently, Open Medicine Foundation, Solve ME/CFS Initiative, and Simmaron Research are in eScrip's list of nonprofits.

Please take a look to see if your grocer participates in the eScrip program:

Additionally, the eScrip Dining program donates up to 2.5% from local restaurants.

And, the eScrip Online Mall links to many major retailers and donates up to 12%. You can install a plugin for your Web browser that will automatically donate a percentage of your purchases when you visit an eligible online retailer.

This is the easiest free donation at no cost to you, no work after the initial sign-up, and continues every month as long as you or someone in your household buys groceries, eats at restaurants, or shops online. You do have to register the credit cards and/or store loyalty cards that you use to make purchases.

I signed up at eScrip with my household's shared credit card several months ago. Since most of our grocery shopping is at one of eScrip's retail partners which donates 5%, every month about $35 is donated, plus some donations from restaurants, which comes out to about $500 yearly.
