Hi, guys. I've had dry mouth for the past 2 months. Can't sleep. Concerned about getting cavities and worse gum problems. (As it is I have major dental problems I can't address due to health, finances and allergic reactions/MCS.)
I had dry mouth and couldn't sleep with it for a month 5 months ago. Spoke to my ENT, dentist and Endocrinologist and none of them had any suggestions that worked for me (mainly cause of my reactions to ingredients in products). Thankfully it went away when I experimented and turned off the fan that was blowing on me.
Now it's back.
I drink enough. Can't drink more cause of diabetes insipidus/desmopressin and low sodium.
Also, I'm below the daily recommended amount of sodium intake cause of how it affects the just mentioned, so I don't think this is because of my sodium intake.
Tried dry mouth products at the store. They all have xylitol which I'm allergic too.
I don't think I have Sjögren's syndrome. I've tested negative for it, yet have been told by my ENT doctor that you can have it way before it shows up on a test.
Don't think I have diabetes. None of the above doctors suggested to look in that direction, even though I asked if diabetes could be a culprit.
Also, don't think I have my mouth open too often, may here and there due to stuffy nose. My only medications other than desmopressin are H1 and H2 which I have to be on for angioedema and have been on for 17 years with no problems.
Dentist didn't want to try anything else with me due to my allergic reactions. Her only suggestion was to drink alkaline water. She said it won't alleviate dry mouth yet it helps with PH of mouth which helps with not getting cavities. I can't afford PH water even buying it from the machines.
If I can find a little help in my daily survival environment, I'm hoping to start oxymatrine real soon. I'm really hoping that will clear up a lot of my problems.
It's been 2 months of dry mouth, wondering if I ought to try again to take care of this with a doctor before I start oxymatrine. I really need to sleep and to not get any cavities (which I can't take care of) or add to the problems with my gums.
Thank you for any help.
