How to read while lying completely flat?

Within the NHS there are medical physics departments that theoretically have the means to produce bespoke solutions for individuals though I don’t know how a referral could be sought. Also though varying between different areas there are voluntary groups that will link engineers with individuals with specific needs. It may be that such voluntary bodies would take self referrals

The bulk of this work is done in the context of environmental controls and combining my memory issues with two decades out of the field I am unsure the best way into the system now, though OTs should know what might be available locally.

There are wide ranges of clamps and stands available. Companies specialising in equipment for the disabled may be more expensive, but now with lots more people having home studios companies supplying camera and video equipment mounts may be more economical.

My goddaughter has a wide range of self supporting stands and clamps as well as those that clamp onto furniture. She is a food videographer and getting support for cameras directly overhead to look down onto the food is important for her. However cameras come with the means of screwing on to supports already fitted, so without engineering support it may be difficult to attach a book or laptop/tablet holder.

A possible source of such support might be university engineering departments, who often have students looking for specific projects as part of their degree courses.

I'm from a touring theatre background, and we only had three engineering solutions: gaffa tape, magnets, and black tack.

If I wanted to attach a pricey tablet to a floor stand I paid twelve quid for, I'd use black tack. It's like Blu Tack, but stickier and much stronger.

You can stick specials (small spotlights), mics, cables, set dressing, props, and any other loose items into place and then remove them without damage. I don't know who invented it, but it's probably the pinnacle of human achievement.

Come to think of it, my bathroom mirror's still black tacked to the wall because I hadn't the energy to get the drill out when I moved in. After six and a half years of condensation I probably ought to check it's not thinking of falling off.

More brainstorming: wearable displays. I tried checking prices, but my internet connection is really slow, so I gave up ( why doesn't my browser allow me to block downloading of videos?). Mate that with a Bluetooth mouse, and you can read or web surf not just lying down, but with your hand under the covers.

You might even be able to find a low-but-good-enough-for reading early tech cheap.

I have just bought one of these stands for £15.
So far I love it! It is lightweight, not sure it would survive being dropped/chucked about but it holds the iPad firmly, you can adjust the angle it’s held at (the gubbins are like gears so it stays in place well) I’m a bit of a fatty so it just fits over me, could be a tight squeeze if you’re a larger man.

Interesting device! I don't need one now but I'll keep this in mind.

Thanks for posting the screenshot.
