When the researchers analyzed the patients’ immune systems, those with PVS had an immunodeficiency syndrome.

So the researchers didn't say it. The article quotes a tweet by a writer and former reporter named Alex Berenson:

So I guess vaccines cause AIDS because a writer doesn't know how to describe T cell changes other than with the word AIDS.

Science: 'New journal co-founded by NIH nominee raises eyebrows, misinformation fears'

The Journal of the Academy of Public Health (JAPH), announced on Wednesday, is the brainchild of NIH nominee Jay Bhattacharya, a physician and economist at Stanford University, and Martin Kulldorff, a former Harvard University biostatistician who became known for his opposition to lockdowns, child vaccination, and other public health measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its editorial board also includes Trump’s pick to lead the Food and Drug Administration, Johns Hopkins University surgeon Martin Makary, who also opposed vaccine mandates.

Only members of a newly formed body, the Academy of Public Health, can submit articles, and all submitted articles are published. Skeptics worry the publication will be used to sow doubt about scientific consensus on matters such as vaccine efficacy and safety.

According to the academy’s guidelines, public health researchers can become members through invitation or nomination from other members. New members are accepted based on whether they are “good scientists,” Kulldorff says, something the academy establishes “either by knowing it already from our own experience as scientists, or by reading what they have published” and checking for sound methods and interpretation.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned on the thread but I’m guessing that the UK ME Biobank’s NIH funding may be at risk. AFAIR that majority of its funding now comes from the NIH. If that is correct and the funding is pulled, I guess it maybe something that the MEA might consider using its reserves to fund.

Maybe that will teach 'top Yale scientists' to be a bit more cautious about tweeting their findings using these immuno-buzzwords. If you find some very obscure hard to interpret shifts in lymphocyte behaviour it might be better to write a short paper and publish it quietly in an obscure journal just so that it is documented.

One remarkable thing here is seeing some of the early nasty LC deniers, like Berenson, immediately jump on accepting that a similar problem caused by vaccines must be true, while they reject it for the virus. Shows how intensely bias works, and also how it's just way too similar to a lot of reasoning out of health care for accepting certain things and not others, entirely based on vibes.

Because if they decide to accept it, and extend that 'logic' to think that, of course, all of LC must be the vaccines. Which is huge, because LC affects a huge number of people. So now they accept it, as long as their preferred cause is responsible. Which is exactly what psychosomatic ideologues do in their day job. It could always have been accepted that vaccines possibly do this, though on a much smaller scale than infections, but in rejecting it whole, they built their positions entirely out of lies, and that position has been the official position for years.

It's so ironic that everyone thinks the same for their position, regardless of what position they hold. Always tell the truth. This is what happens when lies are preferred. It always ends up biting a lot of people in the ass and face.

I would say that’s concerning, but honestly given Musk’s constant barrage of ableist and sometimes eugenicist remarks, I’m just going to be glad he didn’t say something worse.

Sometimes I wonder how different the world would be if that one individual (Musk) had gotten severe ME/CFS from COVID.

FDA meeting to choose flu vaccine composition canceled without explanation

A March meeting of outside advisers to the United States Food and Drug Administration to discuss the composition of flu vaccines for this fall’s flu season has been canceled, a member of the advisory committee told CNN.

The meeting of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, or VRBPAC, is held every March “to pick flu strains, because it’s a six-month production cycle for a vaccine released in September,” Dr. Paul Offit, a member of VRBPAC, told CNN Wednesday.

He said this year’s meeting had been set for March 13, and he received an email this afternoon saying it had been canceled.

“No indication it’s been postponed,” he told CNN; “cancelled.”

He said it wasn’t clear who directed the meeting to be cancelled or why, and said it’s also not clear now how flu vaccine manufacturers will get guidance on the composition of seasonal flu vaccines - “relying on WHO recommendations? What’s the plan?” he said.

An email to the US Department of Health and Human Services seeking comment wasn’t immediately returned.

Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has halted a Biden-era contract to create a new COVID-19 vaccine, Fox News Digital reported on Tuesday.

“While it is crucial that the Department [of] Health and Human Services (HHS) support pandemic preparedness, four years of the Biden administration’s failed oversight have made it necessary to review agreements for vaccine production, including Vaxart’s,” Kennedy told the outlet in a statement.

“I look forward to working with Vaxart and medical experts to ensure this work produces safe, effective, and fiscal-minded vaccine technology,” he added.

The HHS contract is with American biotech company Vaxart Inc., which has been developing a new COVID-19 vaccine that is taken orally. Kennedy did not terminate the contract. Instead, the trial is paused with a 90-day stop-work order issued on Friday.

The stop-work order came ahead of the beginning of clinical trials on Monday with 10,000 individuals, according to the report.

The contract is part of the Biden administration $4.7 billion Project NextGen initiative, which it launched in 2023 to “streamline the development of new vaccines,” the report states. The Vaxart vaccine is funded through an agreement with BARDA (Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority), which is a department in the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response under HHS.

Fox News Digital learned that BARDA had obligated $460 million for the development of Vaxart’s COVID-19 vaccine, and $240 million had already been authorized for the preliminary study.

The stop-work order prevents Vaxart from invoicing BARDA for the remaining $230 million for clinical trials until further notice, according to the report. Vaxart is still able to invoice HHS for medical monitoring of people who took part in early trials.

The pause comes less than two weeks after Kennedy’s confirmation as HHS Secretary. President Donald Trump signed an executive order following Kennedy’s confirmation creating the Make American Healthy Again Commission, which Kennedy will lead to investigate and handle “the root causes of America’s escalating health crisis.”

During the Biden administration, COVID-19 vaccines were mandated across the federal government, and many businesses also mandated the vaccine, leading to massive backlash, protests, and the firing of employees across the nation who refused to comply.

Trump has since signed executive orders related to the Biden administration’s vaccine mandates, including reinstating service members who were dismissed for refusing to take coronavirus vaccines. Trump also signed an order prohibiting federal funding for schools and universities that require students to be vaccinated against coronavirus before they can attend classes in person.

The US Department of Health and Human Services has reversed an obscure requirement called the Richardson Waiver, which requires a period of notice and an opportunity for public comment on a wide range of decisions related to “agency management or personnel or to public property, loans, grants, benefits, or contracts.”

“RFK Jr’s decision to eliminate notice & comment for certain actions enables HHS to operate in secret & without public participation. HHS can ignore the views of key stakeholders like researchers & health advocates. HHS will make crucial public health decisions behind closed doors,” wrote Lawrence Gostin on X. Gostin holds the O’Neill Chair of Global Health Law at Georgetown University.
