Is Long Covid psycho-behavioural or biological? The current state of evidence, 18th March 2025, David Joffe and David Tuller

Hey I'm in Australia now--I hadn't realizerd they'd posted that. I'm pretty sure it will be recorded and available, but I'll know more later. Yes, the title sort of makes it sound like one of us is defending pathophsiological approach and the other defending the psychobehavioral approach I hope the description makes it clear that that's now what I'm doing. The title could be misleading in that senses, I guess. Truthfully, I'm not talking about what LC is--I'm talking about studies of treatments that are bad. We have an hour, so I think David and I will each have 20 min, and then 20 for questions. it's not a lot of time.

The next week in Melbourne I'm also doing an event at Emerge that I think will be livecast. Then I'm going to Perth for a few days to see Alem Matthees and his mum, Helen, and family. I felt it would not be cool to come all this way and not take the extra few hours to fly out west. I'm very looking forward to seeing them.

"Trial By Error: My 2018 Post on Andrew Lloyd’s Memory Lapses, Revisited"
Yesterday, in Sydney, I gave a presentation at the Kirby Institute, a renowned research center at the University of New South Wales, along with my friend and colleague Dr David Joffe, a respiratory medicine specialist. David spoke about the pathophysiology of Long Covid as well as the enormous economic burden of the disease. I spoke about the problems with the clinical trials of psycho-behavioral interventions—specifically, the infamous PACE trial for ME/CFS and the recent REGAIN trial for Long Covid. (More on this when the event is posted online in the next day or two.)
