When that happens, can you ask them to register your details as a named representative, so the next time they just talk to you, subject to security checking? That is certainly the case for some organisations. Part of the information they store is that you have the primary account holder's authority to speak on their behalf. It's not a particularly unusual situation at all, and I would have thought there might even be guidelines that organisations should follow.I have that problem with my daughter. If she needs to communicate by phone with benefits agencies I do the call, explain that she isn't well enough, they ask me to pass the phone to her so she can confirm she wants me to speak on her behalf, then passes the phone back to me to deal with it.
