It is an idiotic generalisation about humans.Mental health experts kept whining that people being "locked down" was horrible for their mental health.
No doubt it is true for some, perhaps even the majority. But there is no justification for asserting it to be a universal truth. Not even close. Plenty of people have found working from home, for example, to be a much better arrangement, and clearly prefer it to having to do the commute thing, which is a giant waste of many people's time.
Not to mention the consequences for mental health of failing to do proper lock downs and get the pandemic under control.
