Rethinking the treatment of CFS — a reanalysis and evaluation of findings from a recent major trial of GET and CBT (2018) Wilshire et al.

Joar Halvorsen is a psychologist in Norway. I haven't really noticed his name in the ME debate, but he seems to be interested in CBT and whether or not the science behind actually is valid.

Really interesting that a professional who to date has not shown involvement in the PACE issues, has now decided to take an interest and stand up for good science. This speaks volumes for this great new reanalysis paper!

Edit: Just noticed his profile includes clinical trial methodology and human rights!

Their PR strategy seems to be stubbornly insisting that their position is the correct one while avoiding real debate.

I still wouldn't underestimate their ability to whitewash the whole issue, its obvious now this was directed by people at the top to deliver a desired outcome to shape social and financial policy. An awful lot of heads would have to roll for the truth to come out.

To be honest there are issues much bigger than ME in the last 50 years that are so obviously not how the establishment have presented them, but the game they play now is, "we dont care if the whole world knows, we just wont address it and we will push a hate narrative meme against those who speak out".

And as we know, Michael Sharpe is an expert on designing analyses to yield desired results.

Correct.

How long did it take for the truth about the Hillsborough stadium disaster to be allowed to be told? Nearly 30 years, and that was a fairly straightforward issue compared to ME.

I really hope we're able to move things forward without just waiting for those responsible to retire. That I've been so surprised by the intransigence shows how naive I was about UK science.
