@JemPD I've watched the first 5 mins - it's good, probably very good. Up for only 8 hours and already 62,000 views. A far better scientific overview by someone with a PhD in physics than many medical doctors...

00:00 Intro
00:30 What is long COVID?
02:59 What causes it?
05:35 Medical Gaslighting
07:51 How many people have it?
10:32 Who has it?
12:00 How long is long COVID?
13:52 What can you do to avoid getting it?
15:15 What can you do if you think you have long COVID?
17:12 What’s next?
18:05 Summary

ETA: comments contain some of the usual nonsense, I hope she doesn't see the request: "I suffer from FND and suffer from many of the same symptoms and a whole load of other ones. It would be great if you could do an episode on Functional Neurological Disorder to raise awareness" :nailbiting:

I watched it and it is pretty good, especially for somebody coming to it with no background in the field (far as I know).

Didn't like that she kept referring to ME as CFS, but it's an easy mistake to make for the uninitiated, and ME was not the focus of the video, so not too worried about it.

Hossenfelder has a large and growing audience (just hit a million subscribers). This video could have some influence.

I've watched the whole thing and I agree. It is very good. If everyone saw this video and took what is said on board, we'd be in a whole lot better place than we are.

I agree it is very good, she even touched on the resistance of medical insurance and medical gaslighting.

Just a couple of typos though, my only criticism.
1:55 "Breathing Difficultes" should read Breathing Difficulties with an i
2:20 "ME/CFT" should read ME/CFS
5:04 "Mitochondrial Dysfunciton" should read Mitochondrial Dysfunction; though funciton sounds fun!
17:25 when talking about NIH the NHS website is visible and vice versa

Sabine has just released another video about scientists being sued for telling the world their truth.

There is a particularly interesting section on "datacolada" who she considers to be raising standards in psychology publishing who are being sued for criticising a paper. Sounds like something which @dave30th might have a professional interest in.

She also discussed scientific input to government, which is topical considering the COVID hearings we are having in the UK right now.

FYI
