Numerous studies of Gulf War veterans have identified an association between self-reported multisymptom illness and self-reported exposures to several cholinesterase-inhibiting agents, including the drug pyridostigmine bromide (PB), cholinesterase- and noncholinesterase-inhibiting pesticides, and the cholinesterase-inhibiting nerve gases, sarin and cyclosarin.
