    The work of the Expert Panel
    Working with relevant subject experts, the panel undertakes research and analysis, including but not limited to reviewing written evidence and published data, in order to judge the Government's progress against its own key objectives and commitments.

    The panel's reports support the Committee's work in scrutinising the Government. To date, the Expert Panel has undertaken four evaluations:

    For further information about the Expert Panel and the process of independent evaluation of Government commitments, you can read the Committee's recently published Special Report, Process for independent evaluation of progress on Government commitments.

    ...

    The Committee is seeking to appoint two additional core panel members, for up to a year in the first instance. Panel members will work alongside the Chair, Professor Dame Jane Dacre, and the three current core members of the panel:
    • Sir Robert Francis QC;
    • Anita Charlesworth; and
    • Professor Stephen Peckham.
    The core members of the panel are joined by 4-6 specialist members during each evaluation, appointed for their specific subject expertise.

    ....

    The Committee is looking to recruit two panellists with different expertise:
    • one panellist to provide expert policy advice across a range of health and social care policy commitments with specific expertise in data and statistics;
    • one panellist to represent the views and needs of patients and care users.
