MRC infections and immunity partnership grants: Sep 2021

You can apply for a partnership grant to support new partnerships between diverse groups of researchers in the area of infections and immunity.

Funding is available for between one and five years to:

• establish new, high-value collaborative activities and capabilities
• add value to high-quality scientific programmes that are already supported by grants from MRC and other funders.

These Infections and Immunity Board grants are for researchers who are ready to take the next step towards becoming an independent principal investigator with clear host institution support (MRC website).

There is no limit to the funding that you can request but the amount should be appropriate to the project. You must also be able to justify why you need this amount to deliver the objectives of your research. Typically awards are up to £1 million, we will usually fund up to 80% of your project’s full economic cost.

New investigator research grants usually last three years and fund up to 50% of your salary.
