We've written a blog post highlighting the most interesting ME/CFS studies of 2024: https://mecfsskeptic.com/2024-looking-back-on-a-year-of-me-cfs-research/ Curious to know if we missed any important ones. Twitter/Bluesky summary here: https://twitter.com/user/status/1873403943482454327
Great blog. Will share to a couple support groups and friends. Just reporting a small error in link formatting: “the tragic death of Maeve Boothby O’Neill”
That's a really nice review. The Concept of ME/CFS paper link goes to the Management of Nutritional Failure paper.
Excellent write up! One suggestion is adding the oxaloacetate trial, since I think news on that has been eagerly anticipated by many in the community. And sorry if this is insignificant, but one letter didn't get italicized in the MAGENTA trial section:
Nice! I thought the one paper on blood-brain-barrier disruption in LC could also be worth a shout with the authors having mentioned interest in ME/CFS.
Thank you, @ME/CFS Skeptic. That's a really good article giving a clear overview of key research this year.
Thanks @ME/CFS Skeptic I find it hard to keep up with the research and your balanced summaries are an excellent resource. Although it hasn’t started yet, and may not happen, I wondered if you might mention SequenceME, the announcement of which was one of the more positive developments in 2024. I also wondered if you might consider adding links to the S4ME threads of each of the studies you summarise.
Thank you for explaining all this. I don't always pay close attention to ME/CFS, especially the big picture, so I appreciate your article.
