Let's talk wheelchairs and mobility scooters

What a bummer that they did not get enough funding. :( While I do not need a wheelchair (yet), I looks like it would be useful for those who do.

    B12/Folic Acid and D3/K2 Supplementation

:bag: I know that! I read somewhere that 2/3 of post-menopausal women cannot metabolize folic acid. What I should have said was most people take folate with B12. :asleep:

    B12/Folic Acid and D3/K2 Supplementation

@Bluesky, thank-you for the information. I am not on Twitter or Facebook, but will check out the website. I am not a newbie. I started with sublingual, but it was hard on my teeth. I switched to transdermal. I definitely makes me feel better. I am even better if I do it twice a day, but that...

Severe flu... rising death toll in California

Well, I guess one 'advantage' of ME is that it keeps you away from people and less likely to be exposed to disease. :ill:

I hope they were not making fun of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Using Heart rate monitoring to help with pacing.

    That wasn't really aimed at you. More a general rant about the ubiquity of smart phones from someone who still uses a flip phone. {And if anyone is thinking "cranky old woman", you are wrong :p}

Using Heart rate monitoring to help with pacing.

No, you are not really old. I can remember when you asked actual salespeople in actual stores about the the things you wanted to buy and I am not old at all. :D You can do HR and blood O2 lever with a little device you put on the end of your finger. I do not understand why people think you...

    Mike's EU Marathons

Do take care of yourself. Don't run if you are not up to it. We all know what happens when you push yourself more than you should. ;)

Energy envelope maintenance among patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis and chronic fatigue syndrome (2017) O'connor et al.

I took this to mean the individuals with higher levels of available energy were able to drive themselves deeper into a hole of PEM. Maybe individuals with lower available energy who think they are staying within their energy envelope really aren't. Perhaps aiming to underexert is needed to...

Blog: Ms Magazine, "Pain and Prejudice" by Julie Rehmeyer

If they were both experience the same symptom, it isn't terribly surprising that they would describe it in the same way.

    Appointment with a neurologist

If they do say that you are 'normal' and do not need treatment, would you have access to any tests that prove what your previous cognitive function was? In this country we take tests before starting university (SAT or ACT). Do you have anything like that? Of course the first thing to do would...

    Pain poll

I ticked muscle pain. I have a mild stiffness and soreness across the back of my shoulders and upper back. I attributed it to working as a computer programmer and spending long days sitting in front of a computer. I assumed it would go away once I lost my job. It did not. It is never severe...

    Pain Relief w/o Narcotics

Advil and Tylenol together are hard on your stomach, kidneys, and liver. A combination of opioid and acetaminophen/paracetamol called Hydrocodone or Norco is more effective at controlling pain and less hard on your body. I found it very useful for controlling the pain of a herniated disc. That...

Significance of unrefreshing sleep in IOM diagnostic guidelines

I don't think that improving or eliminating one symptom of ME means that you no longer have it. Can you function as well as you did before you got ME?

Older Adults' Forgetfulness Tied To Faulty Brain Rhythms In Sleep - Related to ME/CFS sleep/cognition issues?

I am concerned that my sleep problems are an indication that my brain has atrophied. I have tried sleep meds, but they are better at keeping me asleep during the day than improving my sleep at night.

Older Adults' Forgetfulness Tied To Faulty Brain Rhythms In Sleep - Related to ME/CFS sleep/cognition issues?

It's the part about atrophy of an area of the brain involved in producing deep sleep that worries me. I hope that doesn't happen in ME. My sleep is terrible and I don't think I get much deep sleep.
