They dropped actometers for outcomes very early on (after having collected actometer baseline data), but they kept the other objective measures (step test, 6 minute walk distance, employment, welfare use). However, even the objective measures they did use were relegated to secondary outcomes...

Cimetidine: An immune modulator that actually seems to be working for me

Been on 20mg/daily Omeprazole for a few years now for severe chronic reflux. Killed that horrible problem stone cold dead, which is nice. :) Makes no difference to ME symptoms.

Healthwise to "retire the GET/CBT topics" from medical content

Article by Fiona Fox (SMC) for the Revolutionary Communist Party (c. 1996)

Forward ME Group – Bodily Stress Syndrome

The intensity and frequency of name changes about a phenomenon is a good index of both how poorly understood it is, and how unwilling the namers are to admit that. Gives the illusion of insight and progress, helps keep empires and incomes intact, and hold reality at bay for a bit longer, but...

Article by Fiona Fox (SMC) for the Revolutionary Communist Party (c. 1996)

I think their love of the mind-over-matter fairytale is little more than desperately trying to deny their own human frailty and inevitable mortality. It is the most profound and destructive of all psychopathologies. The inability to accept the limits of the material body, the ultimate rule of...

If they had simply said: That would have been more realistic. But they just can't resist spinning and smearing. Understandable, I guess, when you consider how much they stand to lose from the truth. But still completely unacceptable. They have been doing it for so long it is their default...

+1 @dave30th You are not morally responsible for this situation nor resolving it. Please make sure you take care of yourself. There is no advantage to anybody in burning yourself out. Perhaps take a decent holiday when you have returned home from this latest round of travel, to recharge your...
