The answer is "yes and so are all the experts who signed the letter to the Lancet, authors who submitted to JHP, authors and readers of the recent reanalysis etc etc ...", but yes, what's the point. He's basically saying "well I'm not going to talk about it if you don't promise to be nice to...
Seems odd that none of his BPS colleagues have tapped him on the shoulder and told him to stop it. I reckon they're all hiding under a rock somewhere but haven't told him.
This.
Only alligators on Sesame Street. If you want crocodiles you have to watch the Muppet Show.

Well on the one hand I'd tell him where to shove it because he doesn't get to limit the number of questions, attach conditions (including a promise to regard his answer as honest no matter what it is), tell lies about questions already having been answered, dismiss questions by labelling them...
Me too. I had to get the all clear from a psychologist / neurologist / psychiatrist before I could go to the university hospital in Berlin to get my ME diagnosis. My GP is also a specialist in psychosomatic disorders (I only found out when it was too late!) and has given me the all clear in that...
I really wish they'd just say "people with mental health issues" instead of sneaking the phrase "psychosocial disabilities" in there under false pretences. Once that phrase becomes legitimised in this way it'll be redefined to mean whatever the BPS crew want it to mean.
I wouldn't bother. They can come here if they're really interested. And if they're not, there's no point in going there. I suspect they've made up their minds and are now looking for evidence for their MUS FND nonsense to further their careers. If you go you'll most likely be shoe-horned into...
Yes. I was also referring to this piece of unpleasantness:
Not sure about a sense of entitlement, but if he'd like to experience some rude behaviour to confirm his prejudices he's very welcome to come to my house.
It's unlikely that the "inner strength" thing is something she said about herself, probably the journalist spicing it up a bit.
This is true for her, and it's true for me and a lot of others, although I could make a list of the things I've had to give up, I'm fortunate to be able to replace...
Who made up the phrase "sense of entitlement" to invalidate anyone's demand for anything? Another glib phrase which is just thinly disguised name-calling used as an excuse to avoid engaging with the issue.
Only just seen this thread as I'm way behind on my forum reading. Before we throw away the living death thing completely, perhaps it would be suitable for the Simon Wessely biopic - Knight of the Living Dead?
I think when someone joins S4ME with the official AfME logo as their avatar and signs themselves
Then they should communicate and engage. If AfME's head of communication and engagement chooses not to communicate and engage I don't think going on a wild goose chase to Sonya Chowdhury is a...
Ah yes, I see. I knew I had something, and that'll do to wave at the wife's family. I'm so grateful that someone finally found out what it was.
That's actually quite a good therapy. Trials which ask participants to fill in a questionnaire about how they feel when it stops have proved this.
So now they hold us in such contempt that they can't even be bothered bullshitting any more?
How rude. Go on, at least take us seriously enough to bother making something up.
