Pediatric chronic fatigue syndrome: current perspectives (Crawley)

They love to cover every base, this almost sounds like pacing and it doesn't actually define recovery as back to full function. It could easily be used to claim it is managing the illness and staying within ones limits if they get asked tricky questions about true definitions. She has claimed...

Henrik Vogt: IOM review panel biased by patient influence

Isn't catastrophizing supposed to apply only to fictitious illness? He is a very difficult person to work out. Actually, I think I've got it, he has zero understanding of any part of the debate on ME, hasn't read the PACE trial or the reanalysis and he is just talking off the top of his head...

Henrik Vogt: IOM review panel biased by patient influence

He got "better", hmmm...is he objectively cured and if he is whats the proof the tinnitus disappeared because of what he did? Or maybe he is pacing, adapting to have to live with it, dealing with it etc. Sounds like in his youth when he got tinnitus he was worried about some stupid psychs...

Henrik Vogt: IOM review panel biased by patient influence

I'm not sure what he claims his issue was because the translation wasn't too clear, but something about having tinnitus in his youth?...and?....tinnitus can come and go, can be very bad and is part of inner ear problems, so whats his actual point?

Henrik Vogt: IOM review panel biased by patient influence

Its ironic that he doesn't understand that the burden of proof is on the person making the claim, therefore if someone makes a claim of cause or even joint cause its down to them to prove it. If something is psychological or partly psychological by default or "lack of organic proof of disease"...

Rethinking the treatment of CFS — a reanalysis and evaluation of findings from a recent major trial of GET and CBT (2018) Wilshire et al.

Retweeting ammunition @Carolyn Wilshire Didn't Trudie Chalder testify in court at the FOI hearing that the Cochrane review wasn't independent because three of the PACE investigators were on the Cochrane review. She stated that in her position to back up the claim that they hadn't previously...

Rethinking the treatment of CFS — a reanalysis and evaluation of findings from a recent major trial of GET and CBT (2018) Wilshire et al.

That's the funniest thing I've heard in ages a psychiatrist involved in PACE used the word objective.

Rethinking the treatment of CFS — a reanalysis and evaluation of findings from a recent major trial of GET and CBT (2018) Wilshire et al.

I still wouldn't underestimate their ability to whitewash the whole issue, its obvious now this was directed by people at the top to deliver a desired outcome to shape social and financial policy. An awful lot of heads would have to roll for the truth to come out. To be honest there are issues...

He is a member of the British establishment, they are used to having the media in their pockets, briefing them and having their claims printed as gospel. Simple.

Please God no, I like Jennifer Saunders. Crawley would have to play her own role as she is the only person who could be as convincingly stupid as herself.

BBC: Chronic fatigue trial results 'not robust', new study says

Yes the statement is like still pushing conversion therapy for gay people and then just saying, "Oh, well ten years ago everyone thought it was a mental illness so no one saw any issue with the study design". Or how about, "well back in 2004 no one understood leprosy so it was reasonable to...

BBC: Chronic fatigue trial results 'not robust', new study says

The PACE trial was designed in 1692 during the Salem witch trials. I'm sure this is an accurate assumption, I'll go look for a citation.....be right back..

United Kingdom: Science Media Centre (including Fiona Fox)

Also in comparing ME and MS we are not talking about evaluating the two "raw" diseases. MS has actual drug therapy treatments of which the purpose is to allow for the fullest possible potential of functioning in the disease which in turn is aimed at enabling exertion to provide a normal as...
