United Kingdom: ME Research Collaborative (MERC) [was CMRC] news

That's not the situation for us all in the UK, and I think we should be careful to not say it is. It would be very useful to have reliable evidence for what care/investigations patients actually do receive, I wonder if there is any. I've had various forms of investigations in the last 12 +...

Excellent radio Bristol Sonya chowdhury interview

I agree, it was good. More generally, I do wish that very severely ME/CFS would be mentioned in the media. The public, and the medical and care professions, need to know that it can be that serious in some cases.

    CBT- Jen Brea Twitter

I believe this to be misguided of Jen. Taking on board what Sly posted about Jen and the petition, I hope someone responds properly to her. I don't think it would hurt for it to be pointed out that she isn't aware of all the politics in the UK generally, and the NICE guideline review in...

Let's talk wheelchairs and mobility scooters

They look good @MErmaid - fairly compact. I'd love an off-road wheelchair but they are so expensive. I just look at them wistfully :(

Unrest - reviews and general articles

I'm so glad that we are finally seeing some research that includes the severely and very severely ill, and we need more if that cruel abuse of very sick ME patients is to be stopped.

David Tuller - Trial By Error: News about Esther Crawley

I think many of us got the thought behind the use of 'Peter Principle' EC is in charge of this centre and all it's activities. I share the concern. But she is also responsible for everything it does - risky on their part, I'd say. Has she the potential to discredit not just her own work, but...

Monica Greco (draft for 2017 paper) Pragmatics of explanation : creative accountability and ‘medically unexplained symptoms’

"but rather in terms of a pragmatic wager whose truth lies in the quality of its clinical effects.'' If the quality of clinical effects is good, and reported with objective truth there is less likely to be a problem; in a sense all medical treatment is a pragmatic wager. Oh, there's a problem...

Relinquishing Control in Health Care | Dr Laura Marshall-Andrews & Chris Dance | TEDxBrighton

I'm not sure about acupuncture; there are energy channels flowing through the body?! I'm aware there's been some research but I've never looked into it. I have tried it a few times because an easy opportunity presented itself and my husband was keen for me to try. I was curious to know what it...
