READ FIRST: Welcome to the MEpedia subforum!

I do? Honestly I could and I am not remembering right now. I do have a server and domain I set up for some projects, which I could use, but since this is such a simple script, I'll see if Github Actions would suffice. Edit: Removed link

READ FIRST: Welcome to the MEpedia subforum!

Oh, I didn't know Github Actions can run scripts directly, I thought it was just for triggering other services like AWS to run scripts, but I just checked and that seems to be the case. Yeah that'd be a lot easier. If I have some energy later today I'll look into it.

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

Potentially I could instruct it to only use MEpedia for objective facts, like what researchers work at such and such organization, or firmly proven science, but don't use anything that is still up for debate.

READ FIRST: Welcome to the MEpedia subforum!

Good thinking! I'll have to think about how to host the script. The best option would probably be AWS or Google Cloud, but that will take some learning to figure out how to make it work. Easier would be to run it on my laptop, and it auto uploads the monthly views somewhere. Although maybe...

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

Looks like there's the issue of many MEpedia articles being out of date. I wonder if MEAction could hire people to write for the wiki. I think there are paid writers for certain topics on Wikipedia. (Paid by third parties, not by Wikimedia.) "please tell me about decodeme timelines"

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

Oh yeah, very similar! Looks like she put a lot of work into it. I think since then the GPT Actions have been released which allows direct access to other websites' APIs (like MEpedia) which makes things a lot easier than downloading lots of MEpedia, which it looks like she was doing. I haven't...

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

If a moderator could chime in to let me know if I can use posts from the library, then sure. For now, I added the Wikipedia page for ME/CFS which talks about naming, and added a bit in the instructions to use ME/CFS over CFS. The three files it has now are Mayo Clinic Proceedings, the...

    Animal research for ME

Can you provide a source that distress doesn't happen at slowly increased flow rates? The effect of carbon dioxide flow rate on the euthanasia of laboratory mice, 2014 Nitrogen gas produces less behavioural and neurophysiological excitation than carbon dioxide in mice undergoing euthanasia...

    Animal research for ME

I'll copy what I wrote on Phoenix Rising a while ago about creating an animal model of ME: Although, I'm not completely sure of my position. If it takes giving a mouse mild ME to cure a person's severe ME, then maybe it's acceptable. But even then, the ME isn't the only factor in the animal's...

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

Okay, this is really cool. Instead of downloading all of MEpedia, which would have its advantages, but would be pretty difficult, I wouldn't get updates, and I'm not sure I'm allowed, I instead made the GPT able to access the live MEpedia API. So basically it can browse the wiki to answer...

2024: Twitter campaign aimed at John Oliver and Jon Stewart

FYI, started a thread over here: https://www.s4me.info/threads/gpt-for-me-cfs-questions.38766/ Moderation note: posts relevant to GPT have been moved to the new thread

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

Though it's free for others to use, I had to make a Plus account for $20 per month to create it. I'm not a big fan of paying OpenAI, and I would prefer to do this with Anthropic Claude, as they seem to care more about AI safety, but as yet, Claude doesn't have anything similar to custom GPTs...

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

(note - earlier posts in this thread have been moved from the linked thread) Continuing on with the conversation from another thread, I set up a custom GPT, named MEGPT for now, to be able to give it some default relevant documents so that it can answer questions about ME/CFS effectively...

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

Initial posts have been moved from another thread. I just noticed that now GPT-models pre trained on data are available for free users too. Is someone up to the task of training one on Me-pedia, trial by error, and science for ME (if members consent). It would be so much more useful for us...

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

That is a really good idea. I didn't know it was free now, but if so I'll see what I can do later.

    GPT for ME/CFS Questions

By pre-trained, do you mean fine tuned, or are you talking about the custom GPTs, which is basically just giving it default prompts and attachments. The former would be ideal as you can give it unlimited data, and I've thought a lot about that possibility, but it's still very expensive, as far...

    Loss of smell and taste

I can't seem to find an actual source (where I can understand the technical language) about whether mercaptan, the smelly chemical added to natural gas, works primarily through olfactory or trigeminal, but the AI Claude seems sure it's olfactory, though of course it could be wrong:

2024: Twitter campaign aimed at John Oliver and Jon Stewart

On Facebook, to illustrate the difference, I posted the timelapse of her doing nothing in the dark all day as the after, and for before, this video of her doing experiments and backflips on a zero-G flight, obviously barely able to contain her energy and love for life...

    Loss of smell and taste

Patients with COVID-19-associated olfactory impairment also show impaired trigeminal function One interesting thing I've learned is that there are two main "smell" systems: olfactory and trigeminal. Olfactory are more typical smells, like foods. Trigeminal sensations are caused by irritating...

    Loss of smell and taste

Oh that's unfortunate, I guess my memory about this was wrong. But there are some for whom it goes away pretty quickly, right? If so, it's conceivable that using anosmia as a fast marker of LC might work in at least some people. It'd be great to find data on the timelines of people who had...
