    Wessely gets touchy feely

I agree. Such people sleep, eat, breath, and ooze from every pore, manipulative career/social ladder climbing and power mongering. Much of it is done without conscious thought, it's innate behaviour. @Mithriel is right, he is very clever indeed. The Moriarty of psychiatry.

Co-creating recovery in CFS/ME: A reflexive exploration of a Rebuilding your Life programme

As data analysis goes, that's about as psycho-anal as it gets. Objectively speaking of course :p:sick:.

Ye gods, No, of course I didn't mean you :(. It's my non-queen's English. My habit is to to use the vernacular of 'you' rather than 'one'. Sorry for such a misunderstanding.

    Wessely gets touchy feely

When we speak of intelligence, I think there are actually various subsets. Shear IQ alone is not enough if your calling also requires common sense, and you lack it. Such people just seem to resort to arrogance to cover their deficiency.

    Wessely gets touchy feely

It seems to me that when the pressure is on to focus on real science, the BSP brigade start blurting trying to suggest science is of secondary importance. When the pressure is on to use real objective outcome measures, they start spouting (as I've seen somewhere in the recent past) stuff that...

New Scientist: Blood cells in CFS are drained of energy

Yes. Although not obvious, the pdf has a hyperlink in it. If you click on his name it takes you to ... https://www.southampton.ac.uk/medicine/about/staff/sth.page This is surely the same Stephen Holgate. However, despite his uncompromising/unforgivable support for EC etc, his comment in the...

New Scientist: Blood cells in CFS are drained of energy

At this time, unfortunately, it's true there is a lot of debate. The article very rightly targets the many readers, from all walks of life, who believe ME to be psychological, confronting them with a truth they are resistant to, but increasingly irrefutable, even to the skeptics. Edit: I wasn't...

New post on Occupy M.E. - The Truth Is Not Always Nice

Or another line might also have been: "If you are unlucky enough to fall prey to ME ... then see if you can still joke about it!".

Will The UK Establishment Finally Stop Denying The Reality Of ME? Huff Post

The SMC is simply setting itself up for an ever harder fall. More and more of the media is starting to get the bit between its teeth now.

Tymes Trust - No reported harassment of staff at Bristol University

As I've muttered elsewhere in dark corners, these folk operate (in my not entirely humble opinion :p) in a completely different paradigm. For them the concept of lies is alien, because they have no real concept of truth. For them it is cause and effect how they model their world; if a bit of...

Tymes Trust - No reported harassment of staff at Bristol University

Not in the least bit surprised, but it's great to have hard black and white evidence. Get the feeling another David Tuller blog might be in the offing. It really does reinforce the notion that these people's notion of evidence, in whatever form they may present it, is closer to fantasy than...
