It's had a positive effect for me.
My usual Monday before coronavirus: sofa until 11:00, drive 40 minutes, walk a long way from the carpark and up two flights of stairs, teach 90 minutes, eat, teach 90 minutes, lock office door and lie down for 15 minutes, teach 90 minutes, walk to car, drive...
Agreed. The illness fluctuates, so does the amount of energy available each day, often without rhyme or reason. So trying to impose a routine is pointless, it takes no account of varying / fluctuating symptoms and level of functionality.
I heard on the news tonight that all states will be introducing a duty to wear masks at different times over the next week or so, my state will introduce it next Monday. I think the psychosocial difference between the states concerns regional cultural attitudes towards punctuality, urgency, and...
Here's a new idea from a Swiss clinic which has just been posted in our German language forum:
https://infekt.ch/2020/04/exitstrategie-lockdown/
It starts as follows:
Unfortunately it's only in German, and appears to be an opinion piece by a single author, although he's the head doctor of...
Unrefreshing sleep was one of my first symptoms, about 9 months before I discovered pacing and started to cut down my physical activity. My sleep is much improved since reducing my physical activity, as are all my symptoms. I'm nowhere near "deconditioned" anyway, whatever that word is supposed...
Germany seems to be doing ok without behavioural scientists as far as I am aware. The population is just told what the situation is, what the inconveniences will be, what the reasons are, and people seem to largely accept it, follow the rules, and give the coalition government an 80% + approval...
I find nothing objectionable about the article (which is high praise indeed for an M.E. article), apart from the overly flowery language and abundance of adjectives, but if you google her she's a very arty person so that's how she writes. She also makes a few points I really like, for example...
Excellent article.
Edit: Not sure how much this awareness-raising during the corona virus will achieve though. I know a lot of people are having a really hard time now, but some aren't, and if they are asked to associate their time during lock-down with M.E., they may think "oh, not so bad then...
Robert Koch institute update from yesterday, in English:

I expect continuous udates will be available here...
I looked into Redlabs and KDM in 2014 / 2015, and at the time wrote about it on another forum. Here's what I found/wrote at the time:
http://www.ncf-net.org/forum/CallForResignation.htm
KDM takes out patents on his inventions (from 2004 until as recently as 2014), and then assigns them to...
Seems like a perfectly rational defence to me - no-one running a medical scam would want to risk their profits by having to tell people what they're up to. They've basically pled the 5th.
German evening news very positive - doubling rate now every 16 days (target was every 14, it's been going up fast daily) and stricter measures off the table. Still no talk of relaxing current restrictions, but very positive.
In the future, whenever anyone asks "what's it like having M.E.?" (not that anyone ever does) we will be able to say "Remember the corona virus? Plus pain, plus exhaustion, plus nobody noticing or caring, multiplied by years."
I misunderstood this - it's not Evan Davis interviewing Simon Wesseley, it's Simon Wesseley interviewing Evan Davis. It may well end up being much the same thing. I wouldn't have thought a live conversation would be the best place to tackle Wesseley - he'll be in his element with bonhomie...
