Clinical signs in functional cognitive disorders: A systematic review and diagnostic meta-analysis 2023 Cabreira, Stone, Carson et al

They are legacy building. Setting up a field for a new generation to take forward. It's unsettling how few choose to see through the misdirection.

Open What happens when people with ME keep symptom diaries?

Too much energy and cognitive ability to maintain physical ( as in paper ) symptom diaries - probably impacted negatively when we did one way back. My daughter can't remember what she's eaten 20 mins after eating it , so it can be a misremembering record if you can't fill it in in real time...

USA: The RECOVER Initiative - Long Covid research

Climate change physicists . Knowledge of interlinked systems, tipping points , positive and negative reinforcements to interlinked systems. Couple this with machine learning and some " fancy pants" maths ( quoting Broderick) and we might get somewhere .....

Ed Yong Articles on Long Covid & ME/CFS

Exertion is seen through a physical activity lens. Cognitive and emotional exertion are more difficult to gauge and can impact a lot more ( in our experience ) . This tends to be less well appreciated .

Trial Report A multicenter virome analysis of blood, feces, and saliva in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, 2023, Briese et al.

Thanks @mariovitali . I don't know if it is - will read later after some strong coffee. The T cell activation is a documented COVID consequence - even asymptomatic infections . Dosnt bode well , especially for kids .

Mitochondrial dysfunction and the pathophysiology of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) 2012 Booth et al

This is the test which could not be replicated, though I think there were some aspects changed in the attempt ? My daughter and aunt both had ATP profile tests done early in illness . There were interesting aspects relative to translocator protein ( aunt ) , low B3, low magnesium ( daughter) ...
