SMILE trial data to be released

I'm still not clear that there is anything missing. I understood @Lucibee to be saying that all the data are there. Perhaps you could say exactly what in terms of my request you think is missing. I asked for:

No it was decided on the old law and the argument re children was dismissed.

    KCL and the PACE data

Thanks. Hehe. I do seem to be getting on OK with them at the moment.

    KCL and the PACE data

Yes, to the first question. No, this was a slightly special decision as the ICO agreed KCL didn't hold the data. As the information wasn't held, then no other exemptions were considered. This time it would be whether any exemption applies and would be final.

SMILE trial data to be released

I don't. I think others are better placed than I am to comment on the data. You're welcome.

    KCL and the PACE data

Thanks, though, it is all a bit back to square one. Still, at least it is now firmly established KCL holds the data.

    KCL and the PACE data

KCL also claimed that it doesn't hold the data in terms of the FOIA. The ICO upheld the KCL decision, so I appealed to the FTT. In the course of the appeal, the ICO switched sides. The FTT has affirmed that KCL does hold the data. It now has until the end of the month to provide them or argue...

Can we call ME/CFS a disease?

I really don't like 'condition' and would probably correct someone if they used it to me in real life. 'I don't have a condition. I'm ill.'

Can we call ME/CFS a disease?

Yes, I use 'illness' as well.

SMILE trial data to be released

    1. They did refer to this but it was not part of the exemptions they claimed. 2. No. 3. Not got all the nuance, but it's how people tend to understand what we say.

Davie Provan - ex-footballer with ME

You're welcome. Yes, but he's not saying there are blood tests for ME. If a football player at a top club complains of feeling unwell, then there would be a battery of tests done to pick up any signs of problems. No one would be expected simply to train through something or run it off. If for...

    Claire Fox (Fiona's sister)

Another profile of her today. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-brexit-partys-claire-fox-on-why-shes-fighting-for-farage-dbj7jmdwp Not very interesting, but this caught my eye: I didn't know or had forgotten she had worked in mental health. It may (or, I suppose, may not) be relevant to...

Davie Provan - ex-footballer with ME

The fact of Davie Provan's illness was a big deal to those of us who had ME in the 1980s. He was a reference point. 'I've got ME.' 'What's that?' 'Have you heard of Davie Provan...' I wondered what had happened to him. From the article: It's mainly about football.

    Claire Fox (Fiona's sister)

Moderator note: We would remind all members of Forum Rule 12: As a person of interest to people with ME, Fox (and the broader Spiked crowd and the web of support they have) is of legitimate interest, including the fact that Fox is standing for the Brexit party. However, all discussion or...

Blog: "The PACE PLOS One data will not be released and the article won’t be retracted", James Coyne

The Coyne blog is an older one. I got some information earlier this year from the REC, which I blogged about at the link in the tweet sent by Sly Saint. I have also sent a letter to the HRA asking the REC to reconsider. They have said they will and I am awaiting their response.
