I keep going through the same thought processes without resolution

It’s very frustrating because I know I am/was intellectually capable of understanding. But my cognitive fatigue isn’t stable, it has highs and lows, so I guess if I wait for a “good bit” to come along, I can make progress.

I keep going through the same thought processes without resolution

No I was specifically thinking of learning biochemistry, or law/legal arguments. When I worked I attended court/prepared responses etc, now I can’t learn new legal concepts, or recall old ones well.

I keep going through the same thought processes without resolution

I find at some later point I can discuss the issue, or deal with it better. This is a nightmare if there’s a deadline.

I keep going through the same thought processes without resolution

I have experienced these “loops” but only on a very small scale. I tend to recognise it and distract myself when I notice it happening. Which is the weird thing - being able to acknowledge your cognitive dysfunction and think about it. Are there any other patient groups who do this?

I keep going through the same thought processes without resolution

It’s one more ME paradox Think about what you need to do/don’t overthink and use all your energy Don’t overdo it/don’t do nothing

I keep going through the same thought processes without resolution

I think it’s an executive function problem compounded by a lack of memory. At times I struggle with double-negatives. Luckily I can intellectually understand the issue. At times I get lost in them as they are four things at once - the thing, the negative of the thing, and another thing with the...

'Curable' mind-brain training app and ME/CFS, including the role of Fiona Symington

No, I think some humans would have her experiences and behave differently. Of course, some will behave the same.

'Curable' mind-brain training app and ME/CFS, including the role of Fiona Symington

It’s the proselytising that’s the weird part. And the very black and white thinking that x is right, y is wrong in all cases. Also this idea that ME charities or communities are “keeping people sick” or somehow preventing recovery. It’s all very cult/conspiracy/evangelical type of thinking, no...

'Curable' mind-brain training app and ME/CFS, including the role of Fiona Symington

Apparently it’s “made very clear” that this isn’t suitable for physical injuries (I read the Reddit) but also it seems that physical injury doesn’t matter because scans show lots of things, many of which don’t hurt. There was talk of a Facebook group which sounds like the Wild West, where MRI...

'Curable' mind-brain training app and ME/CFS, including the role of Fiona Symington

I find cults, and their cousins grifters and MLMs fascinating. That’s the kind of psycho-social I’m interested in.

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

I didn’t know “emeritus professor” meant someone was infallible!

Monitoring app - Visible - a platform "designed for any invisible illness that benefits from resting and pacing - including ME/CFS & Long Covid."

My RHR is affected regularly by other issues, it soars then drops, no matter what I’m doing/feeling

I thought the ME Community was her community for 14 years. She does realise the ME community isn’t a homogeneous blob? It’s just people with something in common.

'Curable' mind-brain training app and ME/CFS, including the role of Fiona Symington

I am impressed, dismayed and fascinated! Amazing research skills. A tentacle running from insurance companies to an app to an ex-MEA fundraiser. It seems Fiona made friends with Paul a little while ago. Interesting to see where this goes next. A side issue - it feels to me somewhat...

Monitoring app - Visible - a platform "designed for any invisible illness that benefits from resting and pacing - including ME/CFS & Long Covid."

I’m using visible plus - I wish they had a forum on their site for people to chat about how they’re getting on! I’ve been devastated at how much I overexert, I’m so far away from being able to “rest” enough, just due to the usual activities of daily living.the weekly or fortnightly trip out to...

'Curable' mind-brain training app and ME/CFS, including the role of Fiona Symington

I had googled as a result of the Co-signed letter by Fiona and Paul Garner, in response to George Monbiot’s excellent opinion column 12 March 24. I saw she’d been involved in fundraising for the MEA not too long ago (if this is the same person)...

You can edit these days, thanks to Elon. You could always delete the tweet, which would leave the responses! They didn’t disappear with it.

The only way to “preserve” is to enter the link at the time into a web archive site, or to screenshot. Yes, twitter is full of people who amend their tweets after the fact. This leaves the people replying looking a bit silly and the original tweeter looking much better.
