Private UK Consultants not using the psycho-social model recommendations

Re Paul Worthley, I have only heard very good things about him and that he’s very supportive and kind. He’s helped a few people I know. I tried to get an appointment with him recently but he doesn’t do phone appointments anymore, only clinic visits :( I would be grateful if anyone who has seen...

Weird NHS ME clinic referral form

I got this at St Helier as well. And it asked other odd things Too but can’t remember I also had to fill out the anxiety and depression questionnaire think it’s called GAD? The one usually used in hospitals / clinics. I had a high anxiety score because I have high anxiety which I’ve had...

Private UK Consultants not using the psycho-social model recommendations

I’ve spoken to dr Bansal on the nhs, on the phone. To be honest I didn’t have the best experience with him, I believe this is because it was on the NHS. I was severely ill at the time, having been through a CBT trial. The process for going to st Helier clinic is they send you some questionnaires...

Activity baseline vs activity ceiling, why concepts and language matter

Hi @Keela Too. I wanted to say thank you for posting. :) This means a lot to me. I think I’ve definitely understood what pacing and baselines and GET is now. As well as when the ceiling naturally gets higher. Especially from this bit: This makes so much sense to me and it occurs to me that...

Activity baseline vs activity ceiling, why concepts and language matter

Thank you for your reply :) exactly what you said - they believe they’re right, and you go along just in case it somehow helps you. That’s been the story of my life with all the various things I’ve tried since I got ill 4 years ago. Thank you for sharing your experiences too. I’ve tried to...

Will an app a day, keep the doctor away? A critical look at BPS based phone apps.

The worry with the rise of this psychosocial stuff is that someone I know will see this and it will feed into their already warped perceptions about what my illness is. It’s horrible. It makes life even harder for us.

And some more. The app is also big on forgiveness and how that helps heal conditions. They quote some research in their app. Also here’s an email about how it helps M.E

Audio distraction: podcasts, audio books, radio on demand

Aaw yes. And then book 6 and book 7 were very sad as well. Dobby  Jk Rowling apologies each year for someone she killed in the books but didn’t this year. I can recommend Mugglecast as a Harry Potter podcast if you like audio and don’t listen to that one already. I try to get my Harry...

Audio distraction: podcasts, audio books, radio on demand

I’m hufflepuff although perhaps a bit of Ravenclaw too, I love Luna Lovegood! I would have to say book 5. It really left an impression on me - I remember reading it well into the night and crying so much when Sirius died. But the book was so long and so detailed, I loved it. The whole order of...

This is the post but I also can’t see all comments. Then I went onto it on the fb app and even though it says 15 commevts, only 9 are showing. Maybe they deleted the comments?

Yes. So they have a curable fear busting workshop for around $90 And curable “groups” which is like an exclusive group you can join with other people and do extra sessions together and have group chats over 12 weeks, it costs I think somewhere around $1600 or $1800

Don’t actually think being a hippie is one of their “predisposing factors”. However according to Curable, being a -perfectionist -a helper personality - a people pleaser - having an inner critic Does contribute towards you developing MUS.

I know. But it’s so easy to get taken in by it. There’s a bit of an obsession with pinning a lot of things on trauma even in general psychology. I had quite serious trauma in my childhood and as a result of that no one took any of my difficulties seriously including anxiety, bullying other...
