Pharma industry newsletter on ME/CFS drugs ('Pink Sheet') - Ampligen, Rituxan and KPAX-002

May I ask a side question: I read repeatedly of Vicky Whittemore. That is the Mikovits Vicky Whittemore, isn't it? Has someone an opinion about that?

Questions: ICD-11 and dx revision proposal

And another question :) Do you have any ideas to get active with respect to Fink, Henningsen et al.? (Peter Henningsen is "an old stager" in the business of somatic disorders who was one of the main actors in advocating CFS as a psychiatric disorder in Germany in the 90s and making health...

Questions: ICD-11 and dx revision proposal

I see on your homepage that Henningsen is part of the BDS group - why doesn't THAT surprise me?!

Questions: ICD-11 and dx revision proposal

If I wanted to contact BPS or BDS people and if I wanted to give reference to a few very good ME papers showing a medical illness, which ones would you choose?

Questions: ICD-11 and dx revision proposal

Hi Suzy @Dx Revision Watch I have registered on the ICD beta draft webpage. If I choose to place a comment, is there something I should consider?

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

That's what I heard several times, also from people with back injuries or severe spinal illnesses. (I will have to experience that, too, since I will have to apply for pension. I was told, due to my age, I will most probably get no pension at all.)

@TiredSam, yeah, hihi is German, sorry :emoji_hugging:

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

At least here they don't take that too axactly. :) it's like getting depression or somatic disorder automatically. And automatically you qualify for the according treatment. How is it elsewhere? Here, there are a few doctors (private practitioners, one clinic) who can diagnose "CFS" (ME); the...

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

You are more accurate with the numbers :) I admit that was a bit propaganda from my side. :angelic: You see that I took a certain standpoint :) if it's so different in Israel, you can really be happy. There are exceptions in Germany, certainly. What people like me fight for in Germany (and in...

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

Officially, a theory that is not verifiable or falsifiable is not a theory in the (natural) scientific sense, at least according to Karl Popper. Example: hypothesis - there exist unicorns; fae; God; etc. Not saying these may be interesting topics to think about.

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

Dear @Squeezy, I'm sorry you felt so offended. I could look up the papers about the 30% success quote. But honestly, for me it's lots of work - would you be interested at all? There's also a German newspaper article who quotes this fact - maybe there's a reference I could post here. I read in...

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

Okay, I understand, thank you! There's a Mr. I-am-too-good-for-this-world-Wessely, ey? Brilliant! Saying one's own work is perfect but others make it bad. (I.e. the only flaw of PACE are the participating people  )

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

Maybe you have said it elsewhere - and I know, strictly, it doesn't belong here maybe - but what did Wessely say about CBT? Is it or is that your understanding of CBT? Sorry I don't understand right away.

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

Agreed. Honestly, I wouldn't say a scientific paper is gold standard, even if it fulfilled all the criteria, not without having controled it in detail. And maybe even then I would be careful of using the term "gold standard". Science is an "approximation process to reality" in small steps. (I...

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

I won't say which one of those listed, but yes, I did. I had a natural reaction to a situation I felt to be existentially threatening. I had beloved people who were at my side, who helped me by supporting me and loving me, who were just there to listen and to find solutions - while...

Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy the Gold Standard for Psychotherapy?

My problem is that calling a natural reaction to certain situations, e.g. hopelessness in case of extreme poverty and finding not one possibility of solving it, which happens millions of times, or hopelessness in case of people who have two jobs, work 16h daily, but who don't have enough money...
