Just put this up on the Grauniad article thread, seems to fit in here too.
The Guardian's Science Weekly podcast - 2 November 2018 - What role should the public play in science?
Early morning waking so at least got to see ISS! :) Didn't want to wake OH at 5am so catching up on Twitter and came across this:
So I just had to reply, I usually manage to reduce information to farce...
Urm, hard to say really as nobody cares about ME patients. Oh, maybe our carers - our spouses, our parents, our children? Of course they have so much time left after doing the caring thing that they can spend hours every day hounding Sharpe et al. :banghead:
I note that Sharpe doesn't mention how much public money they spent on resisting releasing their data to the public! Or that it was found they weren't threatened.
Plus they are trying to tie us to vaccine deniers too:
Just went and searched Michael Sharpe on Twitter as I wanted to see if he'd had any response to his tweet about the Grauniad podcast he's in today. He's retweeted a tweet from Live Landmark to his feed.
Well I thought we were always being told that 25% of people experience mental health problems? So an extra 5% over that isn't much given how devastating LTCs can be.
No, they didn't. I was reading up on the whole saga back in the Summer, think there are links somewhere on the Forum. Just did a quick search, but no time to go through stuff now as must get a bath before dentist trip!
Thanks @Barry, just so weary of it all. Plus have dentist tomorrow... My dentist is very good and very kind and very ME friendly, :) but sometimes it all just gets too much.
Sad that I managed to get our porch staged for the Trick or Treaters but then too knackered to see any of them. OH did...
My limit is about 2 minutes. On a good day. Luckily the Tribunal agreed with me that my limit was under the 20 metres thing... At least I have an NHS provided wheelchair now, so the argument that my wheelchair didn't count as it wasn't NHS provided will be gone next time I have to do the PIP...
Given who have places on this biased committee it's not surprising, but it is appalling. I despair of ever getting any decent help from NICE. I'm 70 now, I've been sick for 26 years. I had to stop working when I'd hardly started working again post children - was just beginning to look for full...
Thanks @Esther12. Have to say that I find the Nolan Principles quoted by AfME interesting! Seems to me that the majority of the committee don't adhere to them. :(
I don't think these people are at all web savvy. So they have no competence as to how the Web works. We should use this. I'm pretty web incompetent, but I think even I am more clued up than they are! I suspect their mistake was truly a mistake. Also suspect they pay their web designers a...
Not happy that Holgate still chairs CMRC - he signed this letter. How come he's still in charge at CMRC? He should resign.
This may be a bit off topic for this thread, but after dental visit in pouring rain I can't work out where to put it.
