I do see what you’re saying. And am glad if you have read the study, I have not.
I just don’t want good research into this contentious subject to be silenced just because bad research precedes it. I want answers, not confirmation of my current take on the subject.
What I want is that each...
Thanks @Ravn, that’s just what I would have liked to say.
I’m ok with researching if the body/brain tends to disregard the same pain over time. And if so whether some examples of ongoing pain are a failure of this system to kick in. But having that as THE model for ongoing pain is a failure of...
Evolutionary factors? Just guessing but, pigs being mammals, we might have developed similar protective systems and blood brain barriers whereas birds have a different set of protections which means our mammal bodies are not as well adapted to resist or limit the virus once it has managed to...
I am surprised that children might be the subjects in a study like this.
Surely the principle would have to be well established in adults - who are fully informed and consent, their drop-outs counted as part of the outcomes - before considering children in a trial?
Irrespective of morality and...
@shak8 I agree with your main point: we need to avoid knee-jerk condemnation of a study.
[ That’s the sort of thing we’re suffering from ourselves (e.g. presumptions about “fatigue”).]
We need to understand how pain works and more well-designed studies of factors that don’t involve...
I think you have to figure out what you mean by outdoors.
How about:
A covered porch?
City or country?
Quiet or busy?
Controlled environment or slightly unpredictable?
Courtyard?
Trees vs built up area?
White noise or not? (Outdoor white noise could be wind in trees etc - doesn’t have to be...
His research profile page has a list of recent publications at the bottom, the which indicate the sort of thing he’s been focusing on recently:

Changes in the transcriptome of circulating immune cells of a New Zealand cohort with myalgic...
Does anyone know if there have been any studies following the long term outcomes of people who exhibit what I would term physical signs and symptoms (diarrhoea, tremors and shaking, irritable bowel, chills, aphasia, ataxia... etc - see places like webmd for lists) which have been widely ascribed...
Yes, my unthinking associations with aquatic are: a sheltered bay in summer on a quiet day or a very large bath.
So I thought about logistics of getting there and getting in and out. I thought about hyperbaric chambers, about anachoic chambers, about pressure, support and reduced gravity...
I hadn’t thought of this as being about resistance exercise in the water. I was thinking of slow, gentle, supported, being in the water sorts of gradual movement.
Yes, “exercise” and “benefits” do ring alarms. Yes, putting on a (women’s) swimsuit is strenuous and exhausting.
Ga.
Didn’t look too bad til this last quote. Haven’t read any of the links.
Yes, definitely focused on those less affected but, honestly, I have wondered if aquatic activity might be more easily tolerated than more upright movement. Also pressure, body support etc.
But would need to control for...
I prefer the: make the conversation about them approach.
(Works well for most people. And improves your relationship.
...but did go wrong with someone who had just accepted a diagnosis of anxiety - and decided that anyone who isn’t thriving must too).

Yes, i hate the idea of someone else being bludgeoned with me as an example of what they should do.
...and that sort of reply from me leads to repetition, greater detail, ...
Sometimes i get better (=improved function). People ask me what I’ve been doing. I end up telling them literally what I...
Maybe. But it needs a post on this NZ and Pacific Islands thread to direct locals to notice it. It’s a very specific location (in a global sense). Assuming you need to live in the Southern District to apply to get the link, numbers won’t be huge. ...or is it open to all NZers?/interested parties?
Sorry, what results on the iron panel are indicative of hemochromatosis? I googled and it told me they’re looking for ferratin but my iron panel only has HCT (hemocrit), hemoglobin and RBC.
Might be it will make sense to me after a rest.
