The trouble is as far as i'm aware it doesnt say that gradually increasing mustn't be done...., but rather that it must not be done in 'fixed increments'
Like the BPSers do.
I hope this isnt going to be another blind alley by researchers who want their theories to be correct and are not being rigorous/sceptical enough about them to really interrogate the theory/finding, rather than seeking to prove it.
but you cant. I have tried it with several other books that i have bought on amazon & it wouldnt let me do it. No possibility of leaving a star rating without leaving text
That is a fantastic review, and account of the situation very succinct considering how much it covers. Accessible to all too, i shall be referring people to it. Thank you so much
beds are incredibly ltd which is why its even more egregious than 'just' the harm done to the PwME.
I think the problem is that your average doctor in UK does not have any idea that ME/CFS is more than feeling very tired/aches & pains & mood disturbance. This is why when people get very severe...
Yes it seems clear almost right across the board with ME/CFS clinics as well as wth LC, that they believe the reasons GET has been de-recommended are spurious....
so they believe they are actually supposed to be doing it, but not to be seen to be doing it
I know a family who were been accused of it, nothing to do with ME, but involving well defined and dx 'standard - ie well understood, illness. Turned out to be spurious and done to cover up professional failings.
Childrens social care/family court is just the wild west istm
I have tried once again to leave a star rating for some thing i bought - a book and another item, without leavinbg a written comment. Its not possible so one does wonder how those 5 star ratings got there
Ravn IIRC i have oft read the 'trauma/surgery etc can cause/initiate ME/CFS' thing in ME Association literature, i think it might even be in the purple book but i dont have energy to look it up sorry. I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure I've heard Dr Shepherd say it in interviews too. So asking...

For those not getting my meaning i mean when a BPS fan/LP practitioner joins the forum and puts themselves forward.
I bleieve the MEA have been asking for peopel to point oit bad nhs local pages for a while - i remember they recently challeneged the nottingham one & got it changed. dont know where i saw that if it was here on the s4 thread or if it was on MEAfb. here i think but dont have energy to traw back...

yes & im sure 'quiet words' will be had now, explaining to him that 'we know its real and serious and just because CBT & GET help doesn't mean its imaginary. And saying its physical not psychological - well mental health is just as serious and for a minister to suggest otherwise...... blah blah...
mmm, on the surface it sure seems that way, but... backchannels.
I'll believe it when i see it.
I very much agree with @Trish & @Peter Trewhitt about the report/stories generally
