Issues to consider in dietary intervention studies in ME/CFS

Perhaps it would be good for the researcher to come here to discuss it? PErhaps that has already been suggested

Dopesick - The opioid crisis in the USA

No no i'm sure they're not, i realise its a genuine problem. A massive, tragic and horrifying problem. I just meant that the recently revised NICE guideline for chronic pain, may have been a pendulum swing too far in the direction away from prescribing opioids (in the UK), and as i understand...

Dopesick - The opioid crisis in the USA

ooo i LOVE Barbara Kingsolver! I'd like to try that book but i struggle with certain types of violence and because i have to have audiobook instead of reading its harder to control what you hear. Do you recall if it has any interpersonal violence in it Shadrach? Particularly sexual violence...

Biopsychosocial complexity in functional neurological disorder 2023 Joos et al

I should bally well think they were! The effects of stigma on mental health and quality of life are i think well documented. Stroke patients = zero stigma. FND/Psychosomatic = massive far reaching stigma, affecting all relationships (family, friends, work, health care, society at large). Not...

Trial Report The Psychological Benefits of Forest Bathing in Individuals with Fibromyalgia and CFS/ME: A Pilot Study, 2023, Serrat et al

Haven't we discussed this forest bathing malarkey before? I'd love nothing better than to go & spend time in a forest, nature makes me happy calms me if i'm anxious etc, but sadly the exertion of doing so makes me more ill, so....

Living With ME - Documentary by Thomas McCann

Sadly i had to give up on it. There is too much background sound over the voices... a humming/low buzzing behind the first lady & then a barking dog & music behind the family. Its impossible for me with sensory overload/sound sensitivity As @Trish says the youtube subtitles are no good. They...

    Anti-convulsants - Pregabalin and Gabapentin

yes. I feel completely dissociated from myself, i cant feel any feelings. In some ways its pleasant as i feel no anxiety, but then its unhelpful, because things that i need to feel sufficient anxiety about to guide my behaviour, such as speaking to someone about something important but which...

    Gentle(st) stretching routine

i have one of those shiatsu massagers. different brand but it looks very similar. i find it marvellous, although you do have to be sitting up/reclined with cuchions under the rest of your back... i think it would arch your neck too high if supine when using it. But its great because you can...

    Gentle(st) stretching routine

Is there any possibility of your being able to hire someone to come out to you & develop a customised/personalised routine? That's what i did & it was helpful. Actually i did it twice.... Once with a 'yoga & body work therapist' & then more recently with a local osteopath. I had conversation...

Cognitive Behavior Therapy, 2023, Chand et al

Just to clarify... I wasnt talking about verbally expressed thoughts. I was meaning thoughts, full stop. ie i get emotions with absolutely no thought that goes with them, none. Its internal thoughts (ie non verbalised), that is part of what CBT is supposed to address.... because the idea...

Cognitive Behavior Therapy, 2023, Chand et al

My main issue with CBT is the premise that creates a hierarchy between thoughts, emotions & behaviour ie that cognitions are the top, the most important, because they are the root of feelings > which lead to behaviours > which leads to results... and around we go. But from my own experience i...

UK: Invest in ME Conference 2023

i agree that is the impression i have had as well. I wonder what actual use any of these conferences are tbh. Not necessarily IIME but generally. Perhaps i am just feeling negative, but over the last 20yrs there have been so many confrences/gatherings etc but little ever seems to come of them...
