    Supplements! Please Help. Sunshine Salt?

Very good point @Arnie Pye, thank you. I'm regular, luckily. :) I used to take Mag Malate because it was recommended among PWME for ME. But then I was told by my neurologist to take high dose magnesium for my migraines, and I'd have needed 5 massive Mag Malates to get it! Ugh. So I switched to...

Trying Again. What First? D-Ribose? BCAA's?

I'm in a crash, and as always when in a crash, after the initial "Lying Here Like I'm Dead Stage", instead of completely and totally resting like I should, my DESPERATE brain claws at hope. Which means painful internet searching.:arghh::banghead: Anyone else this daft??? Where do...

    Supplements! Please Help. Sunshine Salt?

Oh dear lord. Replacing the supplements I had from living abroad. :banghead: It took me a DAY to research and buy just the right, (hopefully), and at the right price, Complete B Vitamin pill last week. :ill: I've yet to finish finding the following, and would HUGELY appreciate any...

    Upcoming paper about stress

Aww, I SO hoped it would be a USEFUL article. Love your comments everyone! Funny, AND saved me wasting precious brain power on it. "So in some cases stress might not be responsible for the disease itself, just for making a previously unnoticed disease worse." Oh dear. Obviously...

How to deal with Unexpected stresses

Aarrghhh, distraction activity! When you know you SHOULD have your eyes closed and be relaxing like a coma patient... But it's so boring the phone LEAPS into your hand... And before you know it you're even more ill. Hugs, @Hell..hath..no..fury... and @andypants:hug:

How to deal with Unexpected stresses

:muted::speechless: I'm really sorry. I don't know why I thought he had a mother around - must have been wishful thinking. When you desperately need solitude and silence to cope with your own appalling illness, having to look after an ill man is horrendous. I've done it...

How to deal with Unexpected stresses

Statins are the very devil. They do more harm than good. If I had half a brain I'd post some studies. It DEFINITELY affects the muscles, so DEFINITELY affects the heart! Clever @Hell..hath..no..fury... you're spot on, and the idiot ego-mad doctors are WRONG, and making him more ill...

    Sleep deprivation for PwME

@Esther12 yes, that's the problem :(. They all come with side effects, and GP's don't like prescribing them for more than a couple of weeks to get you through a bad patch. There are many pills, with a multitude of risks and benefits. I think your friend should see a sleep doctor and try and...

    Sleep deprivation for PwME

Gosh yes! I'd LOVE to know. I can't get more than 4 or max 5 hours broken sleep these days, and that alone would ruin a healthy person! I was ill enough at the start sleeping lots like your wife, and waking up unrefreshed. I've read a lot about the effect of frank sleep deprivation like mine...

Insufficient sleep, even without extended wakefulness, leads to performance impairments

@Little Bluestem Me too. I like your word, "unawake". I really can't honour much of what I experience nightly with the name "sleep" either.

    Migraine treatments

@Skycloud I'm sorry that your daughter is cursed with these bloody things too. Have we talked about what she's tried? My memory is rubbish. I don't know if it's the Topomax - miracle daily migraine preventer for me, but AKA Dopomax. I'm dopey to da max. Or if it's the ME. :emoji_shrug:

    Migraine treatments

Yes definitely. Me too. If my migraines were treatment resistant I'd jump at it. The pain is excruciating. I'd rather have bamboo pushed under my nails than have another 3 day torture migraine. Not joking. But from the info above, I think these CGRP drugs might pose more than a future health...

    Migraine treatments

I'm very pissed off with these hyped up announcements. The competing companies have massaged their findings and share "facts" which are underwhelming to me as a chronic migraine sufferer. Their "success rates" are barely above placebo! The stories of complete remission trumpeted in the press...

Merryn Crofts - media and inquest

I'm so glad for Merryn's parents and family that they have got this vindication for the cause of her grievous suffering and tragic death. It's a drop in the ocean of their loss and trauma, but it's something.

Schizophrenia Affects Your Body, Not Just Your Brain

The new thing in depression is that it's caused by inflammation, not serotonin imbalance! I read a fascinating article in The Times a couple of weeks ago. Too brain dead to find it. Cambridge psychiatrist has written a book on it.
